We passed the ROFR for a BLT resale. We just signed the paperwork and will be FedExing the papers and check today. How long before we are in the Disney DVC system so that during our upcoming trip we can convert our MYW tickets to DVC-discounted APs ?

I think the closing agent mentioned this would be the step that takes 3 weeks? Not sure though.

Last year, it took about 10 days from the time I sent the papers to the word that we closed. Our sellers returned their paperwork very quickly.

From that point, we were in the Disney system as members within 5 days. Of course, we then added on to BLT the next day!

Congratulations!!!

Thank you! I'm elated! I can't shut up about it. I found myself babbling to a fellow DVC'er (as if I'm already one) in my kids' school parking lot after I saw a DVC sticker on her car!

I chatted up the sales woman at the Disney store just this week. She owns SSR....loves it, etc.

I. Cannot. Stop. Thinking about this!!!

Did I mention how excited I am?

You will need a member card to get your discounted AP's. After you are in the system, I would contact member services. I think all guest services needs is the member # when you upgrade your tickets. If you need a card, I believe you can get one at the SSR sales center.

I was in the system within 72 hours of closing, and that's not an unusual case. Granted, the average is likely closer to 5 days, but I called less than 3 days after closing and was already in the system. Congrats!

Last summer we sent in our signed papers and then had to wait for the sellers to sign for ten days. Not sure why they took so long.

We're in the same place as you....passed the ROFR, fed-exed our papers and cashiers check and waiting for our sellers to sign. It's been 5 days and I've been checking email constantly.

Sending good thoughts your way for a quick closing!

My seller was so slow :sad1:

Passed ROFR on May 11

The escrow company received my papers + money on May 14

The sellers did not send in closing docs until May 24

Escrow officially closed on May 24

According to Disney, they did not receive closing papers until May 25

I was in the system May 27

Still waiting for points . . .

I sent my paperwork in early this month and still haven't closed. The owners are really dragging their heels. It looks like we'll miss the closing date but the closing company contacted the owners who stated the would send the paperwork in first thing next week.

I guess there's no financial motivation for the sellers to sign and return quickly. Their dues for the year are paid for and chances are, if they've taken out a loan for the DVC sale, by mid/late month, they've already paid on their loan for the month? Oh well. I hope I get a fast seller.

Good luck to everyone waiting to close!

The Closing process from Day 1 until you are in the Disney System should be 8 weeks (9 weeks Max). In some cases it can take less time if all parties (Buyer, Seller, Disney, Title Company) get everything processed quickly.
We shoot for 6 to 8 weeks.

Is Day 1 the date the offer is accepted from the seller?

Quick question. My seller can't close until sept 27. How long would it take to get my points?

This thread is 11 years old and nothing in it will relate to closing today.

DVC takes it's sweet time now. Your escrow agent and/or broker will probably update you what to expect when your closing date comes around but right now it's not uncommon for it to be 4 weeks.
