How long for refund after cancellation...

Hi! We are going to have to cancel our resort reservation for June and stay offsite. I was wondering how long it generally takes before you see the funds back in your account? I know they tell you 7-10 days and up to 2 billing cycles, but is that the norm? Thanks!

It really can take anywhere within the timeframe that they stated. A lot will depend on when you called them with respect to their accounting calendar and how you paid to begin with. Credit card refunds are pretty quick (7-10 days maximum). Payments made with debit, check or gift cards can take longer.

Just an FYI - Keep an eye on your FP+ reservations if you're already made them. As an onsite guest, you could make them at the 60-day mark but offsite guests must wait until the 30-day mark. You may lose those FP+ times once your reservation has been canceled. There were a lot of people who made "throwaway" and "phantom" resort reservations so that they can get the FP+ reservations early and then they canceled once they are inside 60 days and their must-get FP+s have been reserved. I believe there have been reports on the TPAS board that a warning that FP+ reservations associated with your onsite reservation will be canceled if the resort reservation is canceled.

I just called last friday to modify and have a large amount that I am getting credited back. I paid with CC and a ton of disney gc's. The credit card amounts showed on mycredit card Mon and Tues and the disney giftcards are getting credit ONE AT A TIME! uggh Each day I am getting an invoice that shows another credit was sent so at this rate it will take 20days for the giftcard credits to show up. It is just ridiculous to only credit one a day.
