I am trying to plan our first night. We are hoping to check in to SSR, get a grocery delivery and go to HOB for dinner before the 9PM Cirque de Soleil show. I know this is aggresive, but DH really wants to do this. This is an unusual adults only trip and we are thinking (he is) that we will do things differntly. I am obsessing over this plan.
I believe that we need to be a Will Call at Cirque by 8:30. I think it is a 15 minute walk. If we have a 6:45 reservation will this be enough time?
TIA

15 minute walk from where? HOB is steps away from Cirque.

The service at HOB is so spotty and sketchy from night to night, it could take you a short time to complete your dining or an extensive time simply waiting for the server to do the work. It took us 45 minutes to get the check last time we were there. Not headed back any time soon.

I can't imagine that it would take anywhere near 15 minutes to get from HOB to CDC. I don't recall our meal taking a long time at HoB DTD but when we ate at another HoB location it did. Under normal circumstances you should be fine with a 6:30 reservation. If you are nervous, ask for your check sooner than you normally would and plan to pay cash/no change needed so you don't need to wait for the cc slip

Enjoy!

I can't imagine it would take over 90 minutes to eat a meal at HOB. If you get seated late, you can mention your plans to the server so they will be sure you get out of there by 8:30.

I just found a map here on the DIS for DTD. I see that HOB is adjacent to Cirque, so I was obviousl off on my walking time. Thanks for pointing that out.
We haven't been to DTD for years and I am having trouble picturing where everything is.
So the other question is, does anyone know where the SSR ferry dock is at PI? How long a walk is that to HOB?
I am a little worried about your mixed reviews. I am hoping for good food and good service.
Thanks Again.

The West Side ferry dock is adjacent to HOB. I mean right next door. Get off the boat and you are there. :thumbsup2

In our experience, service is sketchy...sometimes on, sometimes way off. Food has been consistent...their gumbo is my favorite thing at DTD.

Yes, but I was told in a thread on the Transportation Board that there are now 3 docks in DTD. The SSR ferry stops at the PI dock, not the West Side dock. I couldn't find that on the map and was wondering if anyone knew how long it would take from that dock to get to HOB>
Thanks for being patient with all my questions.
