We arrive late morning on May 3 and hope to be at AK by lunchtime (at Tusker House, of course). We have dinner ADRs at Boma at 7pm and I can't wait. The only problem is that I'm one of those sentimental saps who doesn't feel like I'm at Disney until I see some fireworks. I'd love to catch Wishes at 9pm after dinner.
Anybody think it's at all feasible eat quickly enough to get to MK in time?

I think you may be cutting it close. When we ate at Boma last year, we had almost a half hour wait from our ADR time. Not always going to be the case but if that happens to you then I don't think you'd have any chance making it there in time. Can you bump up the ADR time to say 6:30?

You'd have to have perfect timing with WDW Transportation. Not to mention it depends on how quickly you want to rush your meal. If you get done eating and are at the bus terminal by 8:15 you stand a chance as long as a bus shows up in a few min later. You need at least 45min to 1hr from the time you get done eating to arrive at MK for Wishes, by my experience. But dont expect the best viewing spot with that much time.

This is a meal that you will want to savor and enjoy...especially not skipping on the desserts! I think you will be cutting it close..I agree with the above poster--see if you can move you ADR's earlier ...It's such a great meal you don't want to rush it!!!

I agree, there is no way. But, Boma is Fabulous!! It is our FAVORITE place to eat (on earth ... not just at DW). Don't miss it. See the fireworks another night. Besides, after dinner you have to go look at the animals and find all the hidden Mickeys on the path by the pool!! :thumbsup2

You might consider realigning your dining plans to match your desired activities for the night. You do not want to rush through a BOMA meal. Also, you are on vacation and too many people travelling to WDW loose site of this and run around and work harder, stress more than they do at work.

Make realistic plans now and relax when you arrive...you are on vacation.

Thanks for the advice; you pretty much confirmed my suspicions. I tried for an earlier ADR, but it was either 5pm or 7pm. Too early or too late. I think I'll keep calling to see if anything else opens up.

Absolute worst case senario. Keep the 7 reservation and show up around 6. Since you are early for a reservation, they usually will try to seat you as soon as they can, but you could be waiting as long as 30 min. But at least it would still be earlier.

Don't rush a BOMA meal. It's always a must do for us every trip. We will usually take at least an hour for a meal there. It will take you most of another hour to get back to MK.

My suggestion, If possible, show up early. Most times they will fit you in if a table is ready. I did this at 1900 Park Faire last week. We had a 5:20 ADR and arrived at 4:50. They seated us right away. Worst case, you will have to wait for a table and will probably be seated near or at your ADR time.
