How Long Does It Take?

We closed on a resale on 3/11/04. Called today, and I'm still not showing up in the computer. The lady at MS told me this process could take up to two weeks.

Is this normal?

Is there anything I can do to expedite the process?

Check with the closing company and see when/if they mailed the info to DVC. Also you can talk to member accounting who will get and enter the info. I've heard of several instances where they had it in the system and just were not looking correctly.
 
Who is member accounting? Are they the same as member services?

No, they are the ones that do the fees, billings and transfers. If you call the main DVC toll free number, there is an option for them different from MS.
 

Our closing was officially scheduled for March 6th, but we got our paperwork in on the 26th of February. I called member accounting on Friday the 5th and we weren't yet in the system. I was too busy at work to check the following Monday, but I called Member Services Tuesday morning the 9th and got our ressies.

We too were working with Shontell and Maggie at DVC by Resale, so I would expect the timeframes to be comparable. I'm guessing it took about a week from the time our paperwork was completed (which was obviously several days before the official closing date.)

I didn't find member accounting to be all that helpful, to be honest. The CM was pleasant enough, but it seemed as though she wasn't quite sure why I was calling her. She ended up checking with someone in member administration.

The next time, I called MS directly and the CM knew exactly what I was looking for. She asked for my SS# and started rattling off questions to verify my account information.

I'd call MS today. If you're not in, try again tomorrow. I'd be surprised if you didn't show up this week.
