How long does it take...

To be seated, eat and pay up at:

1) a table service breakfast/buffet
2) table service lunch
3) table service dinner?

My experience is about 45 mins for buffet and 1 hour for lunch and dinner at most TS.

I say an hour for lunch and dinner. Breakfast can be less then that. We were at Donald's breakfast at AK about a week ago and had been seated, eaten and were ready to pay in about 40 min. We stayed almost an hour to take pictures with the characters.

Well a large part of that depends on how big your family is; how fast/slow you eat; & how busy a restaurant is during the time you are there.

Breakfast....we have never done breakfast at Disney so can't comment.
CS Lunch....about 45 in to out.
TS Dinner....1 1/2 hours about.

I think we generally average 50-60 minutes at most table service places. Alot depends on how crowded they are, how busy the servers are, if there are characters then how fast they come by. Sometimes dinner will take a little longer but that is an exception with us.

I have done breakfast buffets and I would say that it would take maybe an hour from the time you sit down, cm comes over and gives you drinks and sends you on your way to the buffet. Depending on how long it takes you to decide what you want, how the big the line is and how long it takes you to eat, you can do it in less....also depends on how many times you visit the buffet...

At a TS dinner during a busy evening it can easily take an hour and a half. Of course, a lot depends on what you order--we always have drinks, appetizer, dinner, and dessert.

I asked because we have booked tons of ADRs for sit down restaurants for our upcoming trip and I wanted to know if it took hours, in which case we would get less touring done, or if it was really quick and wouldn't be the break that I imagined. I am afraid to post our ADRs because I think people will say that 3 sit downs a day is too much (there are a few less structured days in there) but we like food, and I feel like we can always cancel them if we decide to do something different. We are on the deluxe dining plan so might as well whoop it up! I don't think we will get back to the hotel for a rest (only the baby naps anyhow) but I imagine us having a 800 breakfast, 12ish lunch, and 5ish dinner, likely heading back to the hotel at around 7pm. Has anyone else toured this way? Counter service-type food doesn't appeal to us, anyhow. Comments?

You might be looking at longer for Signature restaurants btw. We spent almost 2 1/2 hours at CA Grill last week with apps, main, dessert, and a bottle of wine - and we weren't trying to drag the meal out to see the fireworks either.....

For just DH and I at a TS, 45 to 1 hour

Buffet, 35 to 45 min

I eat kind of slow, but including the wait, paying and eating time, I allow 45 minutes for CS and 60-90 minutes for restaurants (especially if there are characters.)

Terapin, we too are booked on the Premium plan, and have planned 2-3 TS every day. Sometimes, we plan to just grab a CS lunch, but have breakfast character meals nearly everyday, and a dinner every night. I figure that this is typically a slower time in the parks, so the time we lose by sitting down will be gained by a lack of long lines. My DH and I are foodies, so this was a great plan for us. It is good to know that someone else is doing what we are planning to do. We have most mornings booked for character breakfasts or special buffets. Lunches are booked really close to where we plan on touring, and dinners are special places (like Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Mama Melrose for Fantasmic, LTT, Chef Mickey's, HDDR, Aloha, Cap'n Jack's, 1900). I like to make plans, but also can be spontaneous. I'd just rather book what I think we need, and see if it works.
