to drive down?

We're from Toronto but if anyone could tell us how many hours from Buffalo that would be great.

we're driving in January and i'm guessing the mountians would be hard so i'm thinking no more then 6 hours of driving a day and i'm figuring on 3 days which is ok

but i wanted to work out our stopping points

what is the I95 like in January in the northern part?

once we get out of the snow belt it will be smooth sailing (so to speak)

we did in last May in 4 days but we stopped in Daytona for a day and we didn't really pay attention to the times but it was around lunch time on the 3rd day.

anyone here driven down from Buffalo?

We live just south of Syracuse, NY, and though my family hasn't driven down since I was a teenager, I remember my mother saying it took us 25 hours if you were to drive straight through. So, depending on which route you take, you could add four hours on to that (RT 90 to I81 South from there) (from where we are to Buffalo is three hours)

We used to drive all the time....I have a real aversion to flying, but with DVC, if we fly, we go more. :)

Anyway, It used to take us about 23-24 hours or so. This is the route we take from Buffalo when we drive.

Merge onto I-90 W toward ERIE (Portions toll) (Crossing into PENNSYLVANIA).

Merge onto I-79 S via EXIT 22A toward PITTSBURGH.

Merge onto I-79 S via EXIT 21 toward MORGANTOWN (Crossing into WEST VIRGINIA).

Merge onto US-19 S via EXIT 57 toward SUMMERSVILLE / BECKLEY. 67.5 miles Map

US-19 S becomes US-19 ALT S (Portions toll).

Merge onto I-77 S (Portions toll) (Crossing into VIRGINIA).

Merge onto I-77 S via EXIT 81 toward CHARLOTTE (Passing through NORTH CAROLINA- then crossing into SOUTH CAROLINA).

Merge onto I-26 E via the exit on the LEFT toward CHARLESTON.

Merge onto I-95 S via EXIT 169A toward SAVANNAH (Passing through GEORGIA- then crossing into FLORIDA).

Merge onto I-4 W via EXIT 260B toward ORLANDO.

With that route, you avoid the major cities, except Charlotte, for the most part. You also do not have to worry about 95, and it keeps you away from DC. It pretty much goes directly south from Erie, PA and does not cross towards the east until you reach SC.

Mapquest lists the time as 18 hours, but it did take us longer than that with the kids and stuff. :)

20 hours from OUr door in Ancaster ( driving time)

how long you want to stop for breaks is up to you.

we frove striaght through with 2 1/2 year old twins. No problem

and we have done it stopping once.

good luck

tke the 77 and 79 route

I75 is too long and out of the way!!
