How long does it take you to go through a gallon of ice cream?

I'll admit I'm not as much as an ice cream nut as I was a few years ago. Back then I would buy ice cream on a Friday and it would be gone by Sunday evening. Now it could last up to a week or a little more.

I don't bother buying it anymore. It just sits in there. When we're in the mood, we just go to Goodberry's.

I tend to eat one big bowl when I buy it, then I'm sick of it.
but DH can eat a gallon in a couple days!
And we never want the same kind...the kids don't eat it much...
So we don't buy it very often.

Here in the UK you can't buy anything as large as a gallon of ice cream !!!

When we are in Walmart and we see these large containers we can't believe that anyone could eat one on their own!!!!

That's because everything's bigger in the US.

When we buy a gallon of ice cream it goes to waste, we end up eating it a few times, then it sits there and gets freezer burn.

We usually buy a gallon and there's me and my two children, and it's gone after three days. We usually get the vanilla/choco/strawberry. My daughter loves vanilla, and I love the chocolate (all really) and my son loves them all.

A gallon? They only sell one kind of ice cream in a gallon container here - that's mixed vanilla chocolate. All other standard brands are a 1/2 gallon or pints. 1 half gallon of ice cream lasts us 2 nights if everybody has a bowl.

Ever since a Cold Stone Creamery was built about 5 minutes from our house, we don't really keep ice cream in the house anymore - we just go to Cold Stone!!

We throw the remainder of a gallon away.... A half gallon lasts us 3 months.

We buy ours by the half gallon (they don't sell the best ice cream in the world, blue bell cherry vanilla in the gallon size). It lasts about 3 weeks.
