How long does it take to get from a Disney resort to Universal? Please help!!

On our trip to Disney in January 09, DD and DSIL would like to take in U and IOA. We were wondering just how long it takes to get from Disney's POFQ to U/ IOA?

Also they will have their own car with them so is it better for them to drive themselves or is there a quicker mode of transportation for them such as direct bus, taxi, shuttle, etc.

Depends on traffic but normally around 20-30 minutes.

allow time for the (long) trek from the parking garage too

factoring in the parking fee, may just be worth it to pay the extra for a taxi imo
