How long does it take for RSR and TSMM to build long lines? What to do first?

If we go on a non EMH day, how long does it take for lines to build past 30 min in the summer--end of June? What order would you do rides and fast passes to get all the headliners in? Kids will probably want to do RSR twice. Maybe once at rope drop and once with a fast pass later.

I've never done RSR at rope drop; I've only ever ridden it with a FP.
We like to line up at the rope closest to Soarin' and walk by Grizzly on our way to Midway Mania. It's a slightly longer walk, but the crowds are significantly less so it's usually faster. This allows us to be one of the first on Midway Mania. After riding that we would get FP for RSR. We've done this during different seasons and different crowd levels and it's always worked well for us.

Unless you're at the front of the rope drop crowd, I think you stand the chance of hitting 30 minutes immediately. If you're not onsite and part of the early entry crowd, it will likely be over 30 minutes when you enter the park on those days.

We did rope drop, got in the 4th car that day. My kids are 9 so are able to keep up, those with younger kids fell behind, and yes the line builds quickly. Rope drop is crazy and hectic, when I do it again I will do toy story first and then pull a RSR FP for a night ride. My kids only liked it at night! They didn't get the hype of the ride during the day lol, they are strange! If yours are at least 7 you could always do the ride single rider. My girls preferred this as they loved racing each other which happened a few times we were put in different cars!

Wanted to add we were there in mid June so comparable crowds to your trip.

Thanks you guys! It sounds like the best bet is to not stress about hurrying over to RSR at rope drop and plan on doing TSMM first, then grabbing a fast pass for RSR.
