How long does Disney take to refund deposits made by check?

I recently cancelled a reservation for BCV and made a new one for a concierge room at the Beach Club. I made my original deposit with a check but made the new one with my Disney Visa. My travel agent says it usually takes Disney 4-6 weeks to refund deposits made by check. Is she right? That seems like an awfully long time to me.

We have cancelled before and received it withing 2 weeks but I don't know if that is the norm. I think they give say 4 to 6 to give them leeway and people won't be calling all the time.

Ours took almost one month to the day!

Ours took about two weeks as well. It came in one of those sealed up thingamajiggers. Not an envelope but when you have to tear at the perforations to open up and unfold the paper. Come to think of it...does that type of thing have a name? Who invented it anyways? I cound wring their neck. It always takes me at least 5 minutes to get the stupid things open!!!!

Ours came in less than a week. I wonder if your situation is different due to going through a TA?
