Hi folks! We're going SOON!!! :cool1:

Now for some questions...

We're thinking of doing the Disney Wishes Dessert Party but it falls on the same night we are doing the MVMCP. We didn't originally plan to see the first parade anyway. THe Dessert party starts at 8:30pm. How long does it last? Are the desserts really good? What kind of desserts do they have? What else "happens" at the party besides eating the desserts and watching the fireworks? How would this party take away from our experience of enjoying MVMCP (if it would at all?)

As you can tell we've never done it before but I am curious and not completely SOLD on it but am curious and interested in trying something else new. Trying to get us all EXCITED for the trip and make the trip a good one (the last 2 trips have not been good experiences down there) :surfweb: Since we're already doing the MVMCP the kids are on :cloud9: I thought I might throw in an additional :cloud9: with the dessert party (so they can get an up close view of Tink?) but is it worth it? My dd12 absolutely LOVES desserts & esp CHOCOLATE (she's a choco-holic)!! My 2 yr old loves to color and see the fireworks. She also loves to eat junk. ;) :rolleyes1: My BF likes key lime pies and some desserts but neither of us are really BIG junk food eaters. I could prob take or leave it. So how is it "for a kids experience"?

Thanks to all who reply and offer photos in advance! :cool2:

DH and I did the dessert party on a MVMCP night last year...the only thing I regret was not skipping dinner or having an earlier dinner so I could enjoy the desserts more. If you click on my Nov 09 link there are tons of pics of the food and descriptions of what they tasted like.

If memory serves me correctly we were seated at 8:30 and it wasnt full at all....most people left after they ate and didnt stick around to see the fireworks and let me tell you that is really what you are paying for...the view is incredible!

The party starts at 830 or that is your ADR time? Typically the Dessert Party starts 1 hr prior to the Wishes start time. Most of the desserts were cleaned up about 1/2 way through Wishes last time I went.

This was the only special request from my DH for next years vacation. He enjoyed the view of the fireworks and seeing tinkerbell fly over his head. BUT, he said he does not want dinner prior to the dessert buffet as he said he really could have eaten more of the fabulous desserts. They were all very good. I think most of the older children enjoyed it very much. Some of the younger ones seemed to have lost interest after a bit.

If you haven't already booked the dessert party you should try to ASAP. They sell out quickly. It's possible you won't be able to get it at this late date anyway. With the recent price increases it's also possible they've hit a wall with the party and aren't selling so many of them out.

We definitely loved this one! The desserts are yummy, very pretty and the view is great..Tinkerbell flying overhead is a special treat too! But like others have said..have dinner a couple of hours before you go so you can get your fill of all those sweets. We did run out of some of the desserts once, our ressie was for 8:20, it started at 8pm. The CM said they had already run out of some of it..I said something about getting a refund if they were not going to offer the later seatings the same options...by then several other diners were standing there listening and agreeing. They had some more out in minutes! I haven't experienced that since...if you love sweets, it's a must do...at least once!

We are booked for the dessert party the same night we're attending MVMCP and while I had hesitations about his in the beginning, I'm very happy with our decision. We'll just catch the later parade and enjoy the sweets and fireworks. And we're eating a moderately-late lunch at 1:50 or 2:50, I forget. Early enough to stuff ourselves at the Wishes party, but late enough DH won't be grumpy with a hungry tummy. ;)
