How long do you think it will take to add Frozen characters to princess meals?

Doesn't this seem like the obvious choice, on Disney's part? I would imagine that adding the Frozen queen & princess to the other princess character meals (i.e. Akershus, CRT) would greatly increase their revenue, instead of sticking to only meet & greets which are no extra fee aside from a park ticket.

I wonder what the hold up is and if it will ever happen? It seems like such an easy thing to add.

Does Rapunzel ever join the princess meals?

They don't have a regular one, but apparently nov 23 they have one scheduled, supposedly for the coronation.

I'm no Disney expert. But aren't the regular princess meals pretty much booked out all the time already? So no extra money to be made by adding A & E to those. Maybe a new meal of some kind?

If anything, I bet they do something more expensive, priced along the lines of that Princess Tea at the GF.

This. No extra revenue and instead of a few thousand people meeting the Ice Girls, only a couple hundred would. More irate guests with no economic windfall. The Frozen phenomenon has to (sorry) cool off before this would make sense.

I've heard the estimate that only 700 or so get through a day. I booked fp+ at midnight last night and couldn't get one for a&e. Hoping the HS deal will be enough for my princess.

I would love to see them take over for Belle as the main hostess at Akershus. Belle can be seen in several locations, and even has her own restaurant now. Cindy has 2 restaurants (CRT & 1900), plus makes appearances at Akershus. Seems only fair that the newest Princesses get a spot of their own. :thumbsup2

My boys think that the Princesses, Olaf, the trolls & Kristoff should all come to Blizzard Beach though :rotfl2:... oh, and Sven too!

You're totally correct. They don't need any big names in the character meals...they're fully booked all the time without them. Rapunzel has been in the parks for how long and still isn't at a meal (and is very popular). Merida hasn't either. I see them putting those two at a meal before A&E, quite honestly.

Really? I booked FP+ last night, too, and were able to get A&E just fine. I had to book each of us individually, with overlapping times (instead of at the exact same time) but I got us in during the morning. I could have taken afternoon or evening slots for all four of us at the same time.

Try going back and booking each person individually and see if you have more luck.

Really? A character meal with Elsa and Anna? Which restaurant will it be at? I'd love to find out more info.

It's being held in October at the Wonders Retreat in Epcot and is a private event for people who booked trips through certain travel agencies.

Agreed. :thumbsup2

Besides, remember when Rapunzel was all the rage? And she was never added as a regular. And adding Anna/Elsa could require replacing 2 princesses, or adding the cost of an extra CM. I don't see either option as being desirable to Disney.

I have done CRT and Ariels Grotto(DL) and yes they were booked solid so adding Elsa and Anna would not sell any more seats at these types of places.

I have learned Disney is a time/money place where you either spend time or money to get the most bang out of your vacation. I love character meals not because the food is great but because we can see all the characters in a nice relaxed environment. It saves us time chasing them down in the parks.

If Disney opened another restaurant with Elsa and Anna I think it would sell out in a hurry.

I'd love to have Elsa and Anna take over Akershus just for the sake of making more sense.

I tried one at a time but couldn't get anything on the 27th or the 29th. I tried an hour ago and was able to change me and my dd6 to a 7:15 slot on our first night! Not ideal but better than nothing!

YAY! I was a little stressed because my window closed at the same time my husband's opened, so we'd be relying on the "grace period" to get in at the same time, one way or another. I went in and looked again (4th time today!), and was finally able to get us into a fully overlapping windows, which also allowed me to move our 7DMT FP+ to a more ideal spot. Persistence definitely pays off!

I agree.

BUT can't help wondering if this is what they're doing at CRT when it's going down for a 2 month overhaul the first of the year?

That's quite a long time to shut down to put up a new coat of paint.

But it's plenty of time to remodel it into Elsa's Frozen Banquet. :hyper:

I can't imagine permanently ousting Cinderella from her own castle. And I guess A & E makes some sense at Akershus, but it's Norway, not Arrendelle. And what they are curently doing at Akershus obviously works very well for Disney, so I'm not so sure they would be inclined to change it. I really have no basis for this, but I wonder if they might eventually put an A & E meal in HS. No princess meal there right now, right? And they are doing the Frozen summer special event there. . . . I don't know that it fits all that well thematically, but it would spread the princess thing to a less popular park.
