how long do you leave the self-cleaner on for an oven?

I don't have an owners manual and have never done this. My parents are out of town so can't ask mom.

It usually has a preset time. Ours will default to 4 hours, but I can reduce it to 3. Make sure you wipe out any serious mess first, or it will smoke and stink up the house. Open a window at least a crack while its running to let any smoke out.

My sister says that once she turns hers on, it self locks and she just has to wait unitl it is finished

Thanks! My sister just called and told me that it will take care of itself. It wasn't too messy, but its nice enough to have all the windows open today and we'll be putting the house up for sale soon, so it seemed like the perfect time.
