How long did it take to get the Disney Visa after applying?

I would like to be able to take advantage of the Disney Visa offers for our upcoming trip to Disney in January, whatever they may be for that time of year. Sounds like free dining is a common offer. We already have a room only reservation and I was planning on switching it to a package as soon as those rates come out, which I understand is generally in August. I only just applied for the Disney Visa yesterday. How long does it really take to get the card? The website said it can be 30 days. I don't want to wait that long to book the package if I can help it, and I wanted to book it on the card for the points. How long did it take for others to receive the card?

Thanks!

I think if I remember correctly....it took about 2 weeks to get ours. It was quicker than I thought it would be though, as when I got it in the mail and felt cards in the envelope I was surprised to see that they were from Disney/Chase.....but I still think maybe it was around the 2 week mark. The general public code should come out on Monday though....and you don't need a Disney Visa to book the FD deal then :) But having the card will get you future offers...so it's good to have it for those times.

2 weeks for us too. The draw for us was 0% and FD on the package we booked for September. I was surprised that the card came so quickly but it has worked out well so far. There is a rewards program with this card and we have earned some credits that will come in handy to our visit to WDW.

It took about a week to get our card, however if you use Chase it will show up in your accounts in about 3 days. We didn't actually try to book anything without the actual card, but i'm guessing once you find out your approved you could call Chase and get your number and 3 digit back code to book your trip.

It's a great deal to get extra stuff from the parks and allows you 0% for 6months when booking.

I just applied for the same reason! After I completed the app it said I would hear in 10-15 days..

My husband applied last week and he just received the card. So it was only a week for us!

Wow! Sounds like I might luck out and get the card before the package rates come out. My fingers are crossed. I am already have a Chase card (non Disney) and maybe that will help speed things along. So it sounds like people also called or were able to check online to find out the status of the application? I was thinking of doing that. If online, what did you do to check?

Thanks for all of the replies!

Disney is now offering the free dining to the general public.

I applied for my Disney Visa on July 24, but then I heard about the general public free dining. I made my ressies on July 27 with my regular Visa along with the $200 deposit. I did not want to take the chance on not getting the resort we wanted. The CM said I could put the rest on my Disney Visa and even transfer the deposit to my Disney Visa when I get.

I got mine in less than a week as well, it also said your account was active immediately upon approval (web application) and you could book etc without having your cards. good luck

Last year, I applied for my card over the internet, called immediately after being approved and got my card number and was told that I could use my card that same day for my Disney trip and since they new I was booking
asap, they sent my card to me 2nd day UPS or FEDEx (cant remember). I think I waited until the following day to book then rec'd my card the very next day. Yay! for anything Disney related :)
