How long before I try the next person on the list?

I'm trying to give away my MTTMM and Aladdin preferred seating tickets. I sent messages to people at the top of both lists. How long should I wait to hear from them before I move on to the next person? Thanks!

That's up to you I would wait a week and if they don't respond then move on

I think that's way too long. I'd wait a couple of days then move on.

A week??? I'd give people a day or two and then move on. I mean either they're going to be there and they want them, or not. They don't need a lot of time to decide while you wait around for an answer. Give them 24 hours or maybe 48 on the weekend to get to their computers, tops. For the next people I'd definitely put in the email, "Please let me know by XXX or I will contact the next person, thanks so much."

Thanks for the advice! I just sent messages yesterday. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I'll send another message giving them one more day. Going forward, I will let people know of the time limit. Two days sounds fair with an extra day given for the weekend. I really can't have it dragging on too long. I want to get them in the mail before they are misplaced or something. Lol

I'm on the list but way down on 19 but your post has made me conscious that I need to be logging in to the site each time I am on it. I usually read the posts and then log in when I respond to a post. I'm guessing there are others that do the same. It never occurred to me that I would need to be checking daily once I get closer to the top of the list so thanks for making me aware of this!

Me being a newby to the DIS didn't know that I could click at the bottom of the post to send me a email notification when someone has responded to my post so, if I wanted to know I would have to check back at the post I made... I guess that's why they call us newbys...lol Now I know & get email notifications for certain posts...

Ohhh, so that's what the envelope in the lower right hand is for. That's so cool. Each time I wanted to check if someone replied to my post, I had to go back in history and search for it.

I also agree that you should wait no more than a couple days. There are other people on that list who could use the tickets and their date might be coming up sooner than the person you are trying to contact. If the person you are trying to contact never responds, then they are missing out and the people right behind them on the list might miss out too.

I'm assuming people will send you a pm when they want to contact you. You can tell if you have a pm by looking up on the top right side of the page under your username.
