We are cruising in sept and have already purchased the travel ins through dcl. After reading other posts we are wondering if we should cancel the disney ins and purchase travel lite through insuremytrip.com? Is it too late to do this? My dh has concerns about the travelite ins especially since we are sailing during hurricane season. How far out can you purchase travel ins? Thanks

With most travel insurances you have to purchase it pretty soon after you book your cruise.

We booked Travelex within the preexisting condition time period (x# days once trip booked) on our first cruise. When I called they said other than the preexisting conditon types of waiver you have a large window to book. DCL doesn't have preexisting condition verbiage in their insurance so if you were using DCL insurance anyway that wouldn't be an issue. I used the insuremytrip website to compare the different types of insurance. I then went directly to the insurers website to get more info. That is the only reason we chose Travelex vs. Travelite. Also plans directly through Access America's (I think that's who DCL uses) the plans had more coverage options. I'm not sure if that is still the same.
