How long are the waits at Universal without "fast passes"??

I agree with you on this, and I would also like to add that when we went to UO in April, we found locker rentals free for the first 15 minutes, but charge for longer than that....at least I think it was for the first 15, could have been longer but I doubt it. SW does the same thing with the Krakken coaster- have to have your stuff stored in a locker before you go on. But it's still a pain in the butt nonetheless.

Actually the locker rental is free for longer than 15 min. I believe the "default" is 45. If the ride breaks down, has a longer posted waiting time or delayed in any other way, they will override the system so that the rental is still free. If you leave your belongings in there for an extended period past your "ride time" you will be charged.

For those who don't want to put up with the "pain" either don't bring anything into the parks with you, or leave your items with a non-riding member of your party. I had rather have the slight inconvenience of storing my stuff over being injured or injuring someone else with unsecured belongings, or having to replace lost items.

We were just there in August. Locker rental was free for the first two hours. After that there was a charge (I think it was $1/hour).

I wasn't saying I disagreed with using the lockers, I was simply informing the previous poster that they will come across this at many other parks, that's all. I am not against the lockers at all at Universal.

Getting back to wait times, today, even with near record heat today, at 3:45PM Popeye was a walk on, and Dudley was 10 minutes!

Hulk and Mummy lockers were free for the 1st hour and a half.

We went during Spring Break last year. We chose to go on a Wed/Thursday. We didn't stay on-site so we were stuck in the regular lines.

US was fine - no waits over 30 minutes. IOA was crazed. We spent over an hour for Spiderman, 45 minutes for the Popeye ride. DH spent 45 minutes in line for the Jurassic Park water ride (I can't remember the exact name).
We stood in line for the Cat in the Hat line for over an hour and finally gave up on that one since it was hardly moving. :crazy2:

I don't know if we just timed it wrong or if that's how it was the whole week.

We learned to pay the extra to stay on-site next time and get the FOTL passes or buy express passes.

All that being said, I'm planning a trip with just the kids and I next summer. I booked our resort today. Should be a fun time! :)

We were in Orlando in September/October this year and couldn't believe how empty all the parks were. We virtually walked onto everything - the longest wiat was for ET and that was because the doors closed just before we got there.

We went back to MGM on the Saturday before Columbus Day to ride RnR as it had re-opened. It was ridiculous! The wait time was over 2 hours so we got a FP for 1500. We grabbed a drink by RnR at 1450 and by 1505 the FP line still hadn't moved so we didn't bother.

We were chatting to someone on the night and they said that it was absolutely rammed at Universal but the weeks prior to that weekend were so quiet.

We usually go at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct and I have never seen t that quiet.
