How long after you cancel a credit card can you sign up again and get the perks?

I cancelled my Disney Visa about 4 years ago and my Southwest Visa about a year ago because I wasn't using them. If I sign up again will I get sign-up bonuses, or is it a one-time deal per person? What if I wait a longer period of time?

My recent experience is with the SW Visa, I just applied & got one about a month ago. The terms say eligible if you haven’t received a bonus in the last 24 months. I’m sure you would be fine with the Disney Visa, since it has been closed for so long. You might have to wait longer for the SW card. I have read that your card must be closed for 24 months. All Chase branded cards are 24 months. Most Chase cards are 24 months. The Sapphire cards are 48 months

As people have mentioned, these 2 cards have a "You can earn a signup bonus on the same card more than once as long as you no longer have the card and it's been 24 months since your last bonus posted to your account," rule. Also, you will not be able to sign up for any Chase card if you have opened more than 5 cards in the last 24 months. You just want to make sure you are signing up for the best bonus. Unfortunately, you just missed a great Southwest bonus of 75,000 points. The cards are now back down to their standard offer of 40,000 points after $1000 spend. There are 3 different personal Southwest cards out there and you can only have one at a time, so pick the one that makes the most sense for you. You can also get a 50,000 point offer while flying, and sometimes there are links out there that people post for those cards without actually flying. As you probably know there are 2 different Disney cards, $49 version and a free version. It looks like the public links are for $200 statement credit and a $50 statement credit. If you know someone with the no fee card you can support them by using their link and you will also get the $200 statement credit for that card. If you join us on the Credit card thread we will tell you why Disney visa may not the best card to get.

Also, as a general rule of thumb in order to know if you will qualify for any credit card sign up bonus again pull up the offer and read the fine print. They will list reasons you won't qualify and they very from issuer to issuer and even then some issuers can have different sets of rules for different offers on the exact same card Fine print is your friend.

Yes, we do. It changes from time to time but we never know when. Last Spring there was a 60,000 Bonus. I am sure there will be another one, but no one knows when. But the key factor like the others said is the amount of time since you received your last bonus. You don’t want to sign up before then.
