Hi

We are wanting to buy AK DVC. I was wondering has anyone had problems with booking. We will be probably going in October each time. I am worried that we might never get our Savanahh room or worse still not be able to book. I will be sure to book at the earliest time we can, but I am just worried that they oversell thier DVC so you can never get a booking?

I am guessing DVC will only sell the number of points that would totally fill the resort to capacity for the year, and then about 4-5% of rooms are left free due to maintainence needs etc. Even if they do alot of people decide to stay at other DVC resorts or even use points for DCL or other time share. In reality if you book at the 11 month window you should be fine as long as it is not Christmas Day and you want a GV for the next 8 nights!

We have, at times, had a rough time getting the available dates and room type we wanted at BWV even at the 11 month window, however, as long as you can be a little flexible with your dates and not dead set on a specific room type, you really should not have a problem. One thing to keep in mind, October is the Food and Wine Fest at Epcot and the resorts fill up fast.

Hhhmmm I know its a pain, but October is my fav month. I will certainly be on the phone 11 months prior. I imagine AK will be popular.

I think the Food and Wine Festival affects the BCV and BWV far more than any other property. It may be that some of the AKV categories will prove so popular that doing day by day reservations is a good idea, but I doubt in October you will have any difficulty if you plan at 11 months.

I have some points at BWV and have always managed to get the popular BW view at 11 months.

From what I have read the general opinion seems to be that the hard to get rooms at AKV will be value rooms and concierge. I would imagine that you would have few problems booking a savanna view room at the 11 month window.
People will have a better idea of the filling and flow of AKVs when the new building is finished.

Our Home resort is Boardwalk but we have small contracts at OKW & Vero. We always book flights a year in advance and then Most of the DVC at 11 months. AKV should be OK @ 11 months in October but you could book 1 Night at a time if you're a bit nervous. DVC have a freephone number from UK.
