How likely are the chances of getting other people's ADR cancellations

Kind of a frustrating situation, We are on the DxDining plan and made our reservations for our Nov.-Dec. trip back in July. Yesterday we realized we had to tweak our itinerary around and wanted to
1) change some of our ADR times to either earlier or later times
2) realized i made a mistake in one of my ADR by putting a party of 2 instead of party of 6

So, basically just about everything is booked and we can't change anything around. Plus I called Disney Dining to at least see if they can fix my mistake and correct the number in our party from 2 to 6. Of course she said she couldn't do anything about that because everything was booked. She basically said just try everyday and hope for a cancellation.

What we really want (need) is make ADR for Narcoosee (nothing "prime-time"). How realistic do you guys think the chances are of finding an availability between now and then? I find it very frustrating that everything is booked practically 6 weeks out. And even worse that I can't even correct the size of my party. Hopefully they don't send us away because of that mistake. All input appreciated

That's just the way it is with ADR's. They fill up pretty fast and you can book at 90 days out which is what people do (I think it is 90). In June we didn't have any ADR' because we planned on eating counter service to save money (we changed our minds midway through the trip because we needed real food) We walked up to places and were denied by some, but some had availability. If you have a large party it is harder to walk up and get seating together or at all. I would keep calling in the hopes that someone will cancel. You never know. From Thanksgiving thru Christmas is a really busy time so I am not surprised that there aren't any openings. Be persistant or alter your plans/times to make it work.

Now is a good time to keep checking online because it's near the 45 day deadline to pay for resort reservations. I'd keep checking repeatedly and you might get lucky. But Narcoosees is tough to get. Maybe try a different place? Citricos at the Grand Floridian is a top notch restaurant and easier to get a reservation. If you are looking for seafood, Flying Fish Cafe gets great reviews - we are trying it next trip.

Keep trying on line as well and it will give you any times that are available. The ADR that you have for 2 is all that will be seated when you arrive You will need to change to 6 if that is what you need. Booking for ADR'S is 180 days out.

You could try to see if there was a table open for 4, and then try and be seated together at the restaurant.

I agree with pp about checking reservation for 4. We decided to go after my parents & sister & BIL had already booked & made all their ADR's so we couldn't get into most of the restaurants with them. ( It would've made it a party of 11) but I was able at most of the restaurants to get our party of 5 reservations at or about the same time.

I plan on asking when we get there about being seated either together or near each other. It know it may not be possible but it's worth asking!

We just planned a trip for the first week and Dec. and I didn't get all the reservations I wanted or exactly the times BUT I have been checking every so often on line and every once in a while you will see something available that will work.

You may have to change what restaurants you choose or maybe times but keeping checking I am sure something you like will free up.

Good luck. I just booked a trip 2 weeks out and am actively just hopping on thruoghout the day trying to see if anything pops up. Not much luck so far- but I have read on here that it does happen! So I hope you get some good luck your way as well!

I definitely think you should keep trying. We had DxDDPADRs (with lots of character meals) all planned out for an entire week last year and about three weeks before the trip we unexpectedly had to shift our dates back by one week. I thought I was going to cry after making all those ressies and then having nothing. But, persistence paid off...I would call the passholder / dining line anytime I was in the car for more than 10 minutes. I checked online many times a day. In the end, we had most of the ADRs we wanted, made a few changes with the concierge at our resort and we were good. The only thing we didnt have was CRT. But, our first day in the MK, we walked right into CRT for dinner!! I do love when we are showered with pixie dust.

Keep trying, people cancel and change reservations all the time. You might have to be a little more flexible on times, but I don't think it's impossible to get ressies late. And, it might "force" you to try some new places that you wouldn't normally consider and you might be surprised! Good Luck!!

Thank you all for all the wonderful responses. My wife and I will both keep trying relentlessly between now and Nov. 30th. If anything, your responses at least seemed encouraging. Hopefully we get some pixie dust thrown in our direction. This is my parents first trip ever to Disney, and we really want to show them a nice time.

We have only been searching via the Disney website for reservations and the occassional phonecall to disney dining. Is there anywhere else we should be calling? Any and all suggestions would help. Thanks again guys for the support

I agree! Don't give up. I called at my 180 day mark (after the system crashing or being worked on during the first hours I was able to call ) and I was able to get most everything I wanted except Le Cellier. Then a couple of weeks later I was able to grab a Le Cellier lunch when there were NO ADRs for the entire time we were there! Then I finally found a Le Cellier dinner a few weeks later and cancelled my lunch ADR. I have also switched some things around, lost ADRs I really wanted but weren't working with my schedule and them found them opened up again on a different day that would work. Just keep checking back. Also, as far as Narcoossee's goes: they don't even open until 5:30 so pretty much all ADRs there will be "prime time". Trust me, I wanted at 4pm ADR there and was checking daily but only finding 5:30 and 5:50 times. Finally I got clued into the fact that I wasn't going to find the time I wanted since they weren't even open at that time!! I had passed up several Narcoossee's ADRs for weeks until I realized this!! Keep the faith!! (And check back often!)

dont know if this helps but I have an adr for Narcoossees dec 11th for a party of 6 I posted on the DEC adr bored if ya want it. dont know what your dates are. PM me if you do! I was gonna hold for a few more days to see if anyone wants it. its for 650pm

So just an update...
We are currently looking for an ADR for Narcoossee's on Nov. 30th at 530pm, their first seating. So far we found an ADR for 745pm, but that still doesn't work for us because we are going to MVMCP that night. The plan was to take our parents to dinner at Narcoossee's first and then go to the party for the evening (just basically to see the shows, parade and fireworks and take in the atmosphere...wont be in a rush or anything like that...its our first night there).
So, you guys were right, there was no ADR's at all when we first looked but one opened up (although not the one we need, but amaybe we're getting closer). So there is still hope. We check about 3-4 times a day on the internet and we are really hoping to score that 530pm ressie for a party of 6.

sorry its not gonna work for you! id just check the disney site 24-7 when its back up of course! and check the NOV/DEC cancel threads hopefully something pops up! I bet as we get closer and people start to finalize their plans you get some pixie dust!!!! just keep at it! itll happen!!!
