How late can you be to an ADR?

So...I have a 5:10 BOG dinner ADR, but I have a 4:35 FP+ for Splash Mountain that I can't move at this time. According to my personalized touring plan (yay touringplans!), if I enter for my Splash Mountain FP+ at 4:35, they're predicting 12 min in line, 18 min on the ride (also, is that right? is Splash seriously 18 minutes long?), and then a 10 min walk to BOG, getting me there at 5:15, five minutes after our ADR time.

Now, I know TP is just an estimate, but it made me curious--what (if any) leeway is there on ADR times? How many minutes late get me counted as a no-show?

I don't know about the ADR but you should be able to enter the fastpass line five minutes before the official start time.

Up to the manager but I would think 15 minutes would be the max unless you have a bus break down or something out if your control.

There is no official "leeway" time. For an ADR you are asked to check in 10 - 15 minutes early.
The general wisdom, however, is that most restaurants allow about 15 minutes. It is up to the CM at the restaurant

I was wondering the same question! It's good to know the window on either end in case we're running behind schedule somewhat. I'm finding it's a little hard to plan without knowing how to account for walking time, waits and distances in the parks since it'll be our first Disney trip.

To be clear - there is no "window on either end". You are expected to be on time - actually 10 to 15 minutes early.
If you are at all late, they can refuse to seat you and charge you the no show fee. They don't usually, but in busy times, at busy restaurants there have been reports where they have done that.
Disney's official recommendation is to allow 90 minutes if using Disney Transportation. Resort to resort I agree with this. Resort to Disney Springs, I agree with this.
Walking from CR to BOG for a 10 AM ADR I would leave at least an hour. You need to walk about 10 minutes - maybe a bit more - from Contemporary to MK entrance. Then you need to wait in line for bag check, followed by waiting in line to enter the MK. Then you need to walk down Main Street to Fantasyland to BOG. It will differ at different times of the day, but I would leave the 60 minutes to answer the question you asked in the other thread.
Good Luck

I don't think I would want to go on splash mountain then go to an air conditioned restaurant afterwards being soaked, because you can get very wet on that ride depending.

Thanks for your help with that, @Hopefully!

Yes, it is.

As to Splash's run time ... I think it's officially close to 11 minutes, but that doesn't include load-in and load-off time. 2 or 3 minutes added to both ends ... yeah. 18 sounds about right. If nobody's "causing any commotion upstream."

Ohana's is a high demand TS...would not risk being late to an ADR for fear of losing it.

I was 6 months late to a Dining Reservation at The Garden Grill this past trip. We showed up and they were like, we don't have a reservation. I'm like, you sure do, here is my confirmation number. They were like, nope, let me get my manager. They looked it up, turns out I made the reservation 180+10 in advance, but accidentally booked it for like 3 days after my window opened instead of 180 days. It showed up in MDE, but I didn't carefully read the month. They still got us in, and credited back the no show fee. So while technically I was late for the reservation.... They treated us like a walk up... 6 months later.

a 10 min walk to BOG

It shouldn't take you ten minutes to walk from Splash to BOG. The walk is not much more than 1/4 mile. Even if you didn't have an ADR to get to and were not walking with a purpose, that walk should not take you ten minutes. Try to hit Splash at 4:3 (5 minutes earlier than posted FP+ time) and even if you have to wait until 4:35. From the "bridge" walking to Splash till getting through the gift shop after the ride should take about 20 minutes so you should be okay. I would't 100% count on being granted early access for the FP+ or being allowed in after your posted ADR but both are done fairly regularly.

I was sure you meant six minutes until I got to the end. :rotfl:

I would probable do something like that! :sad2: Glad they got you in.

Your story made me laugh. Disney customer service is A+ in most cases, awesome that they worked with you!

The question about arriving late to an adr has been discussed, but my issue is in regards to the stress. How much fun will you have on an attraction when you know you have an adr looming in front of you? You run into a long line at the ride you are really late. I would not like the feeling.

30 something trips since 2003, I've never been early, ever. I'm also not usually more than 5 late, a couple of minutes, to maybe 15, you'll be fine.

BTW, eating dinner at 5:10 is super early, could you push it to normal dinner time or are you an early eater as a rule?
