How is this for a plan?

Okay -
I have 4 nights booked at Hard Rock with a Annual Pass discount, March 10 - 14. I've bought discounted passes for my family and plan to buy an Annual Pass when we get there. (now I'm wondering if there is a discount for passes once I have an annual pass, I bought tickets thru Undercover Tourist for $24 off the gate prices for a 4 day park to park pass)....

That's it.....From what I've read having the Express Pass means that we don't really have to worry about Touring Plans, we can just wing it and still see everything we want. I know for Harry Potter we can't use the express pass, but can get in an hour early to IoA.

I'm usually a super planner when it comes to Disney so I feel out of my element, but kind of exciting to just see what happens...

Thoughts? Am I crazy?

Sounds excellent. It is unlikely that you'll get a much better price on tickets with your AP. You're all set! Go and have a ball!!!!

Preferred and Premier Passholders receive 15% off multi-day tickets when purchased at the gate. Power Passes allow for a 10% discount off multi-day tickets. The discounts apply for up to six additional tickets. The pass would have to be activated first or purchased together.

Since you're staying onsite lines won't be a factor.

My daughter and I spent 3 nights at RPR in August for our very first trip to Universal. We had a blast and planned NOTHING. And there was NO need to do so. It was relaxing and SO much fun for us both. We ate in both parks and in City Walk, and the only time we ever encountered a wait to eat was when we went to City Walk right as the park was closing, and everyone else seemed to do the same. Other than that, it was a very "go with the flow" several days for us where we just headed in the direction of whichever ride or attraction called to us, with no thoughts of any sort of touring plan. It was great.

We will be there March 9th and 10th - 3 night at Portofino with APH discount also. I am just going to get the 2 day 3rd day free tickets for the rest of my family because I think that is the best deal I can do.

That is the extent of my plan too! We have been the Universal the past 3 years at this time and have yet to plan ANYTHING. It's wonderful to just be able to go where the mood takes you.

This is our first time staying on-site so I am SUPER excited to have the Express Passes !!

Have a great time!

todd222222 and jjas - we will be there at the same time. Four nights at RPR, March 9-13. This is our first time in Orlando/at Universal. We are so excited! We've been planning this trip for years, so I can hardly believe we're almost there. :yay:

I've done tons of research and have looked at the menus for pretty much everywhere multiple times. (I love reading restaurant menus!) But I haven't planned anything specific - hope to keep it as relaxing as possible. Here's to winging it! :thumbsup2
