We are going to Disney in December and arriving very late, so we took a hotel through Hotwire and got the Hilton at Downtown Disney for $59.00.

Has anyone stayed there is it ok?

Thanks,

Lyn

I think you got a great rate for this hotel. They tend to give Hotwire and Priceline customers rooms with less desireable views or rooms that have yet to be renovated but I think for the price for one night and you are arriving late you will be more than satisfied. Also anytime you arrive very late at a hotel you get what is leftover in choice of rooms. don't sweat it if you are only there one night. All amenities really won't matter since you will arrive late and probably hit the parks the next morning and check into your "official" hotel.

We have stayed at the Hilton in DTD and found it to be a very nice hotel, great location, very clean, nice amenities. I have stayed in hotels through Hotwire and Priceline many times and it had not been my experience that I have received less desirable rooms. In fact last year when we stayed at DTD Hilton through priceline we were upgraded to the club level for being Hilton Honors members even though they did not have to do this. I hope you enjoy your stay at the Hilton.

I am not saying they will definitely give you a mediocre room. I am just saying that you need to be prepared that it might happen, especially since you are arriving late. PL and Hotwire ressies are given the lowest priority. Having elite status with the hotel will improve your chances of an upgraded room upon arrival.

It's a very nice place! Clean, modern, nicely sized rooms.

In my many priceline stays (in several cities) I have always been treated well & not given an inferior room or room location. But I know of others who have. Still, it's rare & not worth worrying about. :)

I have stayed at this Hilton several times on Priceline. I can't say that my room was "less desirable" any time. The room was fine. You may not get the deisrable views, but lots of hotels charge extra for views. If my room was unacceptable, priceline or not, I would go ask for a change. The hotel made the decsion that they could make money on the rate I am being charged, that does not give them the right to "DUMP" on you.

However, keep in mind this is a convention motel so there is not much "Disney Magic" to the rooms. For the price you got it, you got a great deal! I really enjoyed my last stay there and the front desk was very nice when dealing with some business related stuff I had to do.

I just got back from staying there May 31-June 4 on a Priceline bid. I asked for a view of DTD when I checked in and got one on the 7th floor. I could see Illuminations and Fantasmic fireworks at night from there.

I was never hassled re the timeshare, the food was good in the restaurant, the location EXCELLENT for walking to DTD or driving in (I never used their buses, but they always seemed to be around), and you get Early Magic Hour (Or whatever it is now).

If I were to stay off-site again, I would definitely stay there.

Thanks for all the responses. I will keep all your information in mind. Since there will be three of us I will call ahead and make sure we have two beds.
