Anyone at WDW right now? Or familiar with what kind of impact (if any) this drought is having on WDW? We're leaving for our 1st trip in 3 more sleeps and hoping it rains soon! I wouldn't even mind if it rained while we were there, shorter lines right?

I don't think it has affected the parks. But we sure do need the rain. It is threatening to rain now.

Big fire near Sea World last night, closed I-4 and Central Florida Parkway for a while. If your down within the next few weeks you will notice the damage all along I-4 near Sea World.

Good news is its just starting to rain at Disney this am, big storm will move through today. While the water is a good thing, the lightning they are predicting is not.

Let's hope for the best.

Thanks for the update...we've been worried about our upcoming trip

The news this morning said that parts of I-95 are closed due to smoke.

I-95 is pretty far from Disney, so these fires will not effect the parks. If you use I-95 for travel though you may want to check ahead, yes parts of this road will probably be closed on and off for quite a while.

The good news is it's just starting to rain here (Kissimmee), which means Disney must be getting a downpour by now. Pray for no lightning!

Yeah rain. It really seems SOOO funny to see it raining! I hope my windshield wipers still work! It is so nice to not see BLUE sky this morning!

ROFL I just thought the same thing!

I have to take the turnpike to Downtown this am, and was wondering, "Are my windshield wipers still in decent shape?"

Guess I'll need to buy new ones this afternoon!

The water is disappearing as soon as it hits the ground, like a dried out sponge!

Bad news! I can hear thunder and lighting now, and it sounds pretty strong, lets hope no fires start, the poor firemen are already over worked!

I looked on weather.com this morning, I do this because our best friends live in Deltona. It said it was raining up there. I hope it does some good for you all. We will be down in a week to visit them. I will be wishing for rain from now untill I get down. Yes rain is good but no lighting please.

:cool1: Hope it rains enought to wet the ground so fires don't start up. I leave here in 8 days hope it doesn't rain when I get there....than again, it just might, I am famous for bringing rain wherever I go! :confused3

I'm keeping a close eye on the news about the fires as well. We're driving down in two weeks, we'll be taking I-95 in to Florida and cutting over to I-4.

I hope everyone stays safe down there!

We got almost an inch & a quarter this morning at my house, so hopefully some of it went towards Orlando too. :cool1:  We definitely need it---we could smell the smoke from the I-75 fire south of here yesterday. It's been bad.

If it rains while your down here....

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE........

Turn your headlights on when you turn your windshield wipers on.

Not only is it a safety issue, it's a STATE LAW!

Thank You!

Here is some pixie dust for a good soaking. pixiedust:

I pray that everyone stays safe!

DH thought that they may turn off the fountains at WDW during the droughts. I figured that they just re-cycle the water so it would not be such a big deal. Anyone??
