Is it drinkable? Weird tasting? Are those Brita filtered bottles a good idea?

I thought the water on board tasted fine. However, I grew up in Florida, and I think the water here tastes fine too (other than well water), so I may not be the best person to ask :p

water is fine u would never know it is made from Sea water......

For me the water was had a little chorline taste to me. I would recommend filtering it if you are picky. I hate to drink water so unless it is ordless/tasteless I hate it. You can also carry on bottled water and put it in the fridge.

We take a dozen bottles of water with us. We use one each day and if needed refill it from the sink in the cabin. This way we don't have a water bottle to wash out every night. If you want filtered water, the drink station on deck 9 has filtered water that is even better than bottled water.

Side note: On our last cruise someone asked about the water production onboard while we were at the Navigator Series "Magical Makeover 2003". The chief engineer explained how the "Reclaimed" water is used for mechanical purposes, desalinized and filtered water is for consumption, but the cleanest water (desalinized, filtered, and distilled) is used for the engines. They don’t want any deposits building up in the cooling systems.

We all know what great service the guests get while onboard, I think it’s rather comforting to know that in some ways DCL pampers the ship more than it does the us.

had no problem drinking the Filtered Water!

BTW, she hates sea water also, but I did not mention that the water was filtered from the sea!LOL SHHHHHHHH!

So if she did not notice any difference from bottled water to the filtered water, then it's gotta be OK!

Don't waste money on bringing bottled water!

The water was totally normal. However incase you are ULTRA water crazy, there is filtered water on deck 9 thats complimentary along with assorted juices, coffee, etc. And I thought there were vending machines with bottled water in them aboard, or maybe i saw bottled water in a shop..but im sure it was there ready for use

The water on DCL tasted better than the water here in Fullerton, California (And this water actaully takes just fine). - Mike

The drinking water used in the dining rooms and at the beverage station on Deck 9 are just fine, and I usually drink bottled water. I definitely do not recommend drinking tap water in your staterooms. It's safe, but it tastes like a swimming pool.

We bring a 12 pack of bottled water on board and then refill the bottes from the drinking stataion on Deck 9 whenever we need to. We drink a lot of bottled water and this worked out just fine for us as the Deck 9 water is excellent. The water package from room service is about $30.00 for 12 bottles, as oposed to about $5.00 for a 12 pack that you carry on yourself. Save the money and spend it on Bingo!

Being from Chicago, I am used to the taste of chlorine. I can be fussy about water, but the water on deck 9 and in the restaurants tastes just fine to me. We bring a six-pack of bottled water and just keep refilling from deck 9 as needed. I have never noticed any sort of funny taste.

At the Engineer's seminar on day 4 of our wonder trip, the ship's engineers told us the ship takes on water at the terminal. This water is a 2 and a half day supply. Then sea water is flash boiled and condensed to replenish it. So, at first you are drinking port canaveral water and then as time goes on you are drinking sea water. They are required to chlorinate it to meet US guidelines.

We though the water was just fine for drinking.
