How is the Adventureland side of old Wishes FP+ viewing area?

It is my understanding that the Adventure land side of the old Wishes FP+ viewing area is open for anyone who wants to use it while the Tommorwland side is for dessert party folks. Have any of you seen how crowded the open area gets or whether people can still sit down in the back by the fence? This used to be my favorite way to watch Wishes, and I'm a little sad that it is no longer available with FP+. How early do you think I would need to be to watch Wishes from there?

Have any of you watched Wishes from the Plaza Gardens area since they took away FP+?

I don't recall where the FP+ near Adventureland entrance was, but we watched Celebrate and some of Wishes from the Adventureland side a few weeks ago. We were coming back from having seen the parade right near the Hall of Presidents. We crossed the bridge and stopped near the Crystal Palace. That area was crowded, but there was still room to stop and watch.

We sat there on 7/7. We arrived at 8:15 to find a spot for the parade. I noticed the grass area on the adventure land side was wide open so I inquired if we could sit there. I was told it was open so we sat there for the parade, celebrate the magic, and Wishes. It never got crowded. At one point many of us were stretched out and laying down in the grass. It turned out to be a perfect location, particularly for my family as we had two children with autism along with us and sitting on the crowded street would have been difficult. I guess people don't know it's available?
