How is the A&E line at RD without FP+?

Curious to know what the SB line looks like if you hit Anna and Elsa at rope drop on a non-EHM day. We are a party of 9, only two want to see A&E, so we don't want to use our FP. We would rather save our FPs and ride our 3 selections together.

Are the days of getting a lot done at RD over with because we'd be spending our time in the SB line at A&E?

Considering they just moved to Magic Kingdom yesterday, it will take awhile before there is a good understanding of what to "normally" expect.

Getting a fp will be Much better than rope drop as everyone from breakfast will get there before you plus anyone in the fp line. I would just get fp for the two people wanting to see a and e.

I think you'd come out ahead scheduling FP+ for A&E and then use that rope drop time to get more rides in. Otherwise, you are going to miss out on the short lines for rides because you're waiting in the A&E line.

Yesterday, the SB line was pretty consistently posted at 3+ hours. If you were at the front of the pack rushing for A&E and could walk very quickly, you might find yourself with a shorter wait. But I imagine the pre-rope drop ADRs at CP and CRT will become like Akershus in Epcot. People will be scheduling them to get in the park early and start closer to Fantasyland for the meet and greet. So you'd be behind all those people.

Even if you have a pre-RD breakfast, you'll usually still have to wait at the back rope by Cinderella Castle. I doubt you'd be able to officially queue up until the main gate rope drop.

According to Lines, the posted SB time is 200 minutes with an expected wait time of 164 minutes. That's 4/21 at 3:29pm.
