How is Crystal Palace for dinner?

We had breakfast at CP last trip and it was fantastic. Probably my favorite character meal of the trip. Unfortunately DH and DD don't want to do many character breakfasts next trip so that they can sleep in :confused3. On our Magic Kingdom day I have WCC scheduled but thinking of switching to Crystal Palace. (We have either tried or are not interested in the other MK/ monorail choices for dinner)

Just a note: While I love the Pooh characters DD5 and DH don't really care either way as long as they have food to eat. They are somewhat picky.

Thanks!

My sister and I like character breakfast (were so called adults) but my brother in law wants to sleep in also:confused3 so we do brunch and every one  we all like Tony"s Town Square but is Italian and no characters. LLT used to have characters and was much more fun.. O'Hana's in the Poly good for breakfast/brunch and has things for kids to do and characters. Could 'try" for a ressie at Cinderellas Castle but that is two TS for us best for dinner but breakfast was also OK. is hard to get into but the times i have were last minute online...:dance3: hard to beat WCC and so many saying Kona grill has great breakfast or lunch will be trying this trip in 43 days.....

CP for dinner is a must do for our family. really good food, i love the mussels the salmon the pork and the prime rib plus yummy desserts.hope you enjoy it too if you decide to have dinner there.

We did a CP dinner on our last trip. I was excited but DFi was a bit apprehensive, we both ended up loving it, I say go for it :goodvibes

We did CP for dinner a few trips ago and loved it. Everything was amazing. We have ADRs for an early dinner on MNSSHP this October.

Did it last year during free dining and it was one restaurant we will never return to. It's not a great buffet I would much rather go to a real restaurant but if I had to do a buffet it would be anything except crystal palace

I think opinions will vary on the quality of the buffet. I actually really enjoy the buffet at Crystal Palace. We always make certain we hit it once during the trip. Perfectly located in the Magic Kingdom close to the parade route or near the fireworks viewing spots around the castle.

I like the variety and the fact that they have a children's area of the buffet for helping with those kids choices. There is also ice cream to finish up. I really like the roast beef and the rolls.

We ate there Sept 7th for dinner. It was a bit crowded but we had reservations and got in pretty quick. The waiting area out on the porch was packed with people waiting. I enjoyed the CP and the characters making it around to each child. The buffet I thought was good, alot of choices and loved the make your own sundae ! We were totally stuffed, I give it a thumbs up ! I would for sure go back for dinner again. :goodvibes

Our kids are grown, but we still love dinner at CP for the food. We wave the characters on by; too busy chowing down!

We had dinner there on Monday and did not care for it at all. We loved the character interaction but not the food. We won't eat there again. Our "Country Buffet" has better food than the Crystal Palace and it is 1/3 the cost.

The Crystal Palace is a must do for our family too. We ate dinner there twice last month and both times everything was great.

To the people who enjoy the food at crystal palace...have you eaten at any the Disney restaurants? After a week of dining at disney the only restaurants i wont be returning to are crystal palace and mama melrose. I just thought the food there wasn't very good, as someone before said i can get better food at any local buffet

Cp is our new tradition before mnsshp. We like it. No it is not gourmet but it is good food with good character interaction. If I am not eating at a signature restuarant at disney, I don't expect a 5 star meal. My ds 12 is picky and finds things he likes at cp.

We went to CP for dinner on our last trip (in May), and it was my first time eating there in probably ten years. I found the food to be very good, especially for a buffet, and the various cold salads were particularly tasty. We are planning to try the CP breakfast on our next trip, as in all of our many trips, we have never been in the park before it opens (in fact I've only made one RD in my life, and vow to never submit myself to that insanity again) and we think the 8:05 ADR at CP will make for a nice way to see the park without the jostling of the RD exprience. If not for that desire, we'd unquestionably go back to CP for dinner on the trip, instead.

The characters were also a lot of fun and very engaging, particularly Pooh Bear and Tigger. The tables are cramped, as a few people have said, but I have yet to be in a standard TS at Disney where the tables were not pretty tight and it's no worse than the norm.

That is rather an insulting stance to take. Did you ever consider you just got unlucky with the food quality that night? Anyway, our family is doing dinner again on our next trip. It was much better than the Coral Reef that trip. That doesn't mean that the Coral Reef is bad either, just not good that trip.

We actually go to CP for the food, not the characters because we think the food is great. I wouldn't touch most of the buffets close to my home - not Golden Corral or any of the similar ones (OK, I admit to an occasional Chinese buffet, but nothing else :goodvibes). But I love love love the food at CP. I mostly enjoy the cold salads. The mediterranean pasta salad is so good I make it at home now. (I also got my family's favorite - chicken ceaser - recipe from CP). Maybe some of the hot foods are mediocre, but the salads are great! My DS had 3 servings of Ratatouille on our recent trip and my kids also love the deserts.

Wow. I actually love the food at both Crystal Palace and Mama Melrose. Considering that most trips we abuse the Deluxe Dining Plan, I'd like to think we've eaten at almost all the Disney Restaurants.

Each visitor to Disney will have different experiences based upon their own personal likes/dislikes. We've eaten at Crystal Palace on each of the last five trips. The food is, in our opinion, good. Character interaction is great. This is a buffet meal. You pick and choose what your dining experience will be. I like the buffet because my seven-year-old daughter gets a plate of food that I know she will eat. Then she gets to make her own ice cream.

Crystal Palace is my DH favorite of all the Character meals.

We will be having lunch there on Thursday, can't wait. :)

The last time we went was the LAST time we went, the food was just way too salty

The only buffet that we frequent (non breakfast) is Cape May and Beirgarten, they are the only places where the food has flavor other than just loaded with salt.
