If you went to Chef Mickeys for dinner, how was it? Do you think dinner or breakfast is better?

CM does not get much love on the boards, but we like it. I prefer dinenr to breakfast, and if we book this one, we book on our arrival night.

Character buffets are all about the characters, so the food is okay. Not great, but not bad either. Just okay. For a first disney trip with a child, I have found kicking off with dinenr at CM is a perfect way to get into the Disney spirit. We ride the monorail and get a sneak peak at the MK, and then into the Contemporary Resort to dine with our favorite Mouse and friends.

One of my favorite memories was our first trip with our 4 YO DGD. This was when we were able to ride in the front car of the monorail with the pilot, and you guessed it! Up front we were! We rode the entire loop, with my little Tinkerbell peering out the window, eyes wide open! And then we were whisked into the CR for dinner. That child was enchanted, a ride on her still favorite attraction, the monorail, and dinner with her best friends. If you asked me what we ate, I would only be able to say "food" but 14 years later i can describe each character interaction with her and with the rest of us.

Just ate there this week. The place is loud and hectic, but we had a nice quiet window table. Waited only a few minutes to be seated and all 5 characters came over within our first 10-15 minutes there. The food wasn’t actually as bad as I expected. I loved the corn bread and some the pastas were good. The sweet n sour chicken and potstickers were weren’t bad either. Definitely overpriced, but was better than expected. My kid loved the dancing with the characters and it was a fun dinner overall.

The 10 year old loves Golden Corral of all things and I put the food on about the same level. So we end up going there most trips but to my thinking I am mainly paying to get the Fab 5 out of the way.

We really like brunch there. Breakfast food is harder to screw up, but brunch has some more substantial offerings as well as dessert.

I think breakfast is ok but what I don’t like about the restaurant is that it always feels sticky.

We've done both and prefer breakfast. We are not picky or foodie type people. When we had dinner, what we had was perfectly fine and filling, but we didn't leave feeling like anything we ate was exceptionally great.

Chef Mickey’s does not get a lot of love on these boards, but we love it. We eat dinner there every trip, and we never had a bad meal; we find the food pretty good. It’s loud, but I think a lot of places in Disney are loud. I’d definitely give dinner a chance.

While we’re there, it almost seemed like breakfast was busier than dinner. Restaurant was always full, but the line waiting to check-in always seemed longer at breakfast.

We are big Chef Mickey's fans and always go for dinner on our arrival night. The monorail and the mouse on your first night? It can't be beat. I've always found the service to be very friendly as well.

Hit and miss for us. First time it was great, the food all seemed fresh the service was good, the characters paid a lot of attention to our table. Second time, some of the food seemed dried out, the service was still good, but we had to keep asking the server to remind the characters that there's a table in the corner.--that was many years ago, we never went back as the kids were tweens at the time.

I noticed that as well. We had dinner there and the buffet food was very average. Small children enjoy the character interaction, but couldn't recommend it for just the food.

We go there every trip and really like it! We love the character interaction for sure! My girls love seeing the Fab 5 and dancing and twirling their napkins. Last trip my husband did something to irritate Donald lol and so they kinda got into a play fight it was great :)

The food is decent... it's always been fresh and tastes great for us. We love the desserts there.

What does irk me a bit is the wait time to be sat... many times we wait 30 min to an hour past our reservation time. Now we tend to keep that in mind and adjust the reservation time a bit.

Guess we got lucky. We got seated right away (and I had even asked for a table in a particular area). The place where we had an annoyingly long wait was Ohana ☹

Yea Ohana is another bad one with the waits! Honestly I could go without Ohana dinner every trip but for my husband its a must so... of course we go every darn trip lol

We do dinner every trip, but its not our favorite meal. We do it for the ease of character interaction. The food is not bad-I always find things to eat. & it has great kid choices and desserts. Characters are plentiful (easiest place to meet the Fab 5!), but the meet and greets are pretty mechanical and rarely personalized, in our experience. Some joking around, but mostly rushed.

In my opinion, Crystal Palace has the best character interaction!!

I've done breakfast and enjoyed it, but lately, we travel with my parents who do not like spending time or money on breakfast, so we have done dinner the past few trips.
