How is Boma?

We enjoyed Boma for dinner. Plenty of selections, nice salads and dessert are great. My kids enjoyed it also. During your stay I would say Jiko is a must. That and Le Cellier are our favorites.

We had breakfast there, and other than one or two African dishes, everything else was standard American breakfast food of all kinds, and it was all delicious! We're staying there in December and can't wait to have breakfast there again, as well as dinner.:thumbsup2

Sorry, but this was the one place we'll never go back to - we did not like it AT ALL - BUT there are many who think it's great.

This was def.ly one of the most crowded, also (in July) - we had to wait in a long line just to get to the food on the buffet.

Sorry to say the same for my family. We didn't like it either. Won't be returning.

So many people rave about this buffet and I just don't get it. I am open to eating anything and there really isn't a food I don't like. With that said, I thought the food was aweful. DH and kids too! What was I missing?!:confused3

Add us to this list....

:scared1: HATED IT!!!!!!!:scared1:

We are huge foodies and not fussy eaters. Food here is just gross, quanity does not mean quality.

My advice is try everything at least once, different strokes for different folks.

i have never been there before so it is probaly not very fair for me to judge but it does look very good. :)

:goodvibes AMAZING! This is our FAVE in all of WDW! The willingness of the staff to explain each dish to you is great. My DS is soooo picky so the staff made plain pasta for him it was great. Boma is an experience not just a meal. The variety is huge and a wonderful opportunity to try different things that really aren't so different once you taste them.:thumbsup2

We love, love, love, love, LOVE it! Best buffet in all of WDW, in our opinion! :goodvibes

We go there even though we don't have a car and don't stay at AKL, so we have to take a bus from AK to AKL, then take a bus from AKL to DTD, then shop a bit and take yet ANOTHER bus home to our resort. TOTALLY WORTH IT! ;)

DD & i love boma, DH & DS are "just okay" with it.
but, both DD & i enjoy more "adventurous" foods, & talking to the chefs. DH would eat pizza every night if he could (seriously:sad2: ), & DS is a hamburger/hot dog kind of person.
imho, everyone should try boma at least once & decide for themselves tho.
:)

Boma is a "must do" for all our trips. We've taken family and friends there often and everyone enjoyed it. The meats are wonderful and there are terrific rice and potato dishes, but our favorites are the soups, salads and desserts!

I am not a big buffet fan but having two little ones sometimes it is the best option. This buffet is pretty good. The quality is ok and there is enough selections to find something for everyone. I enjoyed the cold selections most, they were more adventurous. Alot of the dishes have a sweet taste to them which I am not crazy about. The prime rib is pretty good although it was a little overcooked for my liking on our second visit. All in all you guys are going to love your stay at AKL. The resort is beautiful almost like another theme park. We are returning in August but I lost out to Wilderness Lodge since we have yet to stay there. Be sure to eat at Jiko. This is a top notch restaurant. We were a little apprehensive about eating there with two kids DD8 DS6 but both loved it. Our waitress was so good with the kids. My son had the kids filet w/mac and cheese and he loved it. I had sturgeon and it was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had.

My mom and I went the last trip with free dining - we are both pretty adventurous eaters and there are not many foods that we absolutely WILL NOT eat. We had both been hugely looking forward to Boma as a big change from the rest of the food on the trip and also something we couldn't get at home. We each enjoyed trying the different and unique foods available, but in the end, we decided that this was a restaurant that we did not need to visit again. I will say that the waitstaff was very pleasant and attentive, and my diet Pepsi never went dry :cloud9:

It was fun to try - especially if you're with non-picky eaters (I would NEVER bring my boyfriend here, who eats like a 2-year old) - and I am glad I visited. But for now I know that with so many other great options at WDW, Boma probably won't be a re-visit for me.

Love it, love it, love it-I could go on and on!
It is probably our favorite restaurant on WDW property!

We went there about a week ago for dinner and I'm sorry, but we didn't really like it. We tried a bunch of different items (2 rounds for food, 2 rounds for dessert) and none of it was that great. Also, I have to say it - zebra domes are over-hyped, I couldn't even finish one.

I see this rest. brings out strong love it or hate it emotions.... and us to the

LOVE IT

list, it was recommended by a freind two yrs ago and we almost skipped it. Are we glad we didn't, it is hubby's fave, in my top five and our kids 2 and 4 also enjoy it very much... they are not you standard mac and cheese, pizza or chicken finger eaters and like that they have so much to try. This a.m. we were roughing out our ressie's for the next trip and will be posting questions about what is offered on what nights. I believe the cocnut curry soup isn't always offered and seems to be a big hit with many people, hubby included and DD's too actually

I suggest trying it, if you find nothing yu like you will at least fill up on the many options to try.

Enjoy
