How intense is Expedition Everest?

I found EE to be the smoothest coaster of the many I've enjoyed in my life time, including those in WDW. The only time I felt any slight jar to my system was when the coaster was first being grabbed by a chain to pull it up a hill. I soon learned to lean forward just a bit when I saw a hill ahead. (I believe that on EE there are two such hills.)

Not to worry, it's really a great ride and I wouldn't want to see anyone miss the experience.

Enjoy.

Thje drops on EE are not as big as ToT of course but you can see the entire biggest drop without going on the ride, take a look and decide for yourself.

The chicken exit depends on the ride although I would think that Disney would probably suggest that an adult go with a 9 year old but would not necessarily require it. If they were to sugest that you could ask for a babyswap pass so the one waiting gets to ride it and your DS could ride it a second time. In ToT I know that it is a plain elevator and it will go to the end of the ride where she would wait for you, at EE the whole queue is outside, I would think that she would just be able to be walked to the end of the ride and wait their (since you can basically see it from the start of the ride.) While there won't be a specific CM assigned to a child or anything the chicken exits generally put you at the end of the ride where their are cast members waiting to give you info about pictures so they would be around and if she was to scream because someone was trying to walk off with her they would easily stop it.

I think that EE is most similar to Big Thunder Mountain. I thought RnR was fairly terrifying because it is so fast and dark.

Thanks, everyone for your advice. I shared it with my son last night, and he thinks that he'd like to give EE a try. He told me last night that Rock n'Roller was his favorite ride, ever. I told him that most people on this board felt that Everest was less intense than RnR, so he feels pretty confident that he wants to try it. We'll be there in two weeks (his birthday present from my wife and I), so maybe he'll get to ride it on his birthday. Now, what to do with our DD5 at that time... we'll figure it out.

PS to Heidi. You didn't steal the thread. Thanks for being so considerate. I wish more of the guests in the parks were as considerate as you are, here on the Dis board.
