How important is it to make use of EMH in May?

My 20-year-old daughter and I will be at WDW in mid-May of 2006. We have a courtesy hold on our reservations with Dreams Unlimited and need to finalize by January 20th. The days that we have planned in our itinerary do not necessarily work that well with the EMH schedule. How important is it to use those hours to their full advantage? We still could alter our plans by a day or two.

Thanks!

We were there last year the first week of May. We only used emh am once and it was awesome. The rest of the time we just wandered in whenever we got up. We didnt use any emh pm we swam and rested in our rooms .
So hopefully it will be similiar for you .

We used the PM EMH all of the time, but this was last March. Not sure what it will be like in May. It was kinda nice being able to stay at MK until midnight and ride Splash over and over and over again. We found that the first hour or so of the evening EMH was busier than the rest of the evening. Have Fun!

We really did not find EMH to be to our benefit in May last year. We were at MGM during stww and the whole day the park was a madhouse...we were so glad to be able to go back for EMH but it was just as bad. Sure we could get around a little better in the bigger open areas but where things were open it was just as packed. Except in my last three trips I never saw the line for Great movie ride under an hour and I think we ONLY waited 45 min lol. There was a waiting line to get INTO the star wars GIFT SHOP. Didnt get to get back on RNR - dont remember if it was open or if no fast pass or what. Hubbie did ride TOT but took like 45 min. It was our last night in the parks and the kids had gotten money from nana to spend that night. It was nearly impossible to get any help in the stores. MGM Late EMH - TOT 1x, Great Movie Ride 1X, Star Wars Ride 1X, Gift shop...they were trying to close registers with the store still packed so it was after closing while we were in there, and it didnt actually start EMH till I was almost on Star wars but it was almost no line...maybe they were gonna close it before EMH??? I swear the boards had said that AKL's EMH were the least crowded but it was crazy there. Except on the rapids. It was overcast and slightly cool. we rode 4x straight and were kinda cold when we got off. We actually did a lot here but I'm not sure about how much was before/after EMH...we got there as the parade started then did Safari, Lion king, Tarzan, Dinosaur, Triceratops 3x (while waiting for hubbie on dinosaur) and Rapids 4X. We left well before the end of EMH I remember that we couldnt get close to anything else that was anything we could do. Epcot lines were terrible ... for everything but spaceship earth. We managed a FP for Soarin' right before they turned off the fp, right when emh started. walked over got fp's for test track (and rode test track on previous fp....I shopped while they rode(again the store was so crowded you could hardly walk through them much less get help....all registers in the BIG store were open with 5 or more in each line). Went back to soarin. Then it trook over an hour to get back to test track fp line and back to the exit after 12(? well whatever closing time was). So for our 3 hour emh, we rode test track 2x, space ship earth, soarin, and the park closed. We hadnt even watched illuminations that night trying to get on the rides. We napped every day so that we could stay out for the late emh's we never really made it to early ones. It was a fun experience. This trip I just said forget it we will do the park all day and not worry about late. If things seem like they may be different when we get there, I can reevaluate. My only snag now is it'll be too cold in march I think to swim after the day at the park.
