How important is it to get a family member removed from reservation?

Hi everyone! I am renting DVC points and the member I am working with called to have my son who can no longer go removed from our room reservation but I can’t take him off the app. The chat people on MDE chat say he still shows on the reservation so member would have to call to remove, which he already did. I don’t want to make the DVC member hold a bunch if he doesn’t have to, so is there any reason that makes it important for my son to be removed or should I leave it alone?

As long as the member takes him off the reservation, it should update in MDE. If it does not, there really is no harm since there is no dining plan right now. That is the only time it really mattered since you have to pay for everyone in the rooms.

It may just take a little bit to update on MDE.

Thanks! Yep here it is 3 weeks later and no update on MDE so thinking the removal didn't "stick". Unless Dining comes back by Sept 20 I will just leave well enough alone!

Can you delete the reservation from MDE and then add it again?

Ok well that is a bust. Was chatting with Disney and again they said to have the member call.. Like why waste his time since he has already tried?

A member can modify the reservation online and remove a guest. They only have to call if the lead guest is changing.

I have heard that people who want ROR should take everyone who is not at the park that day off so their list because instead of choosing everyone you would have to click each one. Not sure if this would hinder anything but thought it was worth mentioNing.

Fortunately, what you heard is incorrect. When trying for a RotR BG, the system will automatically select the people in a given Friends & Family list who have DHS tickets and park pass reservations for that day and skip the ones who don’t. Having extra people on the resort reservation or on the F&F list won’t matter one bit.

No harm at all unless you want to add people and are then over the occupancy limit. We went in April in. 2 BR. In laws couldn’t make it but I never removed them.
