How important is Extra Morning Hour in late October?

I am a Disneyland newbie and trying to plan a trip in late October. How important is the early morning hour the last week of October? I am torn between staying with Disney or offsite and am trying to get dates set. We will have at least a few days but want to experience it all while we are there! :)
I have notices that some park hopper tickets are sold with an Early Morning Hour. Are they valid for just on early morning entry the whole trip and does the scanner tell the CM that? Are there tickets that offer multiple early entry days without staying onsite? Thanks in advance!

Extra Magic Hour, available to Disney hotel guests only, allows you early entry into one of the parks every single day of your stay. The EMH alternates between DL and DCA.

Magic Morning, which is part of pre-purchased 3-Day or more park hoppers tickets, only allows you one Magic Morning, which is good in DL on certain days. Say your trip is M-Th and you use your MM on Tuesday, you will not be able to get in early again on Thursday when MM is offered again. They currently don't offer any tickets that have multiple magic mornings for offsite guests.

Park hours tend to be shorter in the fall (10am-8pm for example) so having that extra hour each day could be really helpful for a first time trip! Plus the atmosphere of the Disney hotels is hard to beat! If you can afford it I'd definitely say it'd be worth it to stay onsite. :)

Any extra time in the Parks is worth it!!

As jammy says, park hours are shorter in October. But it's also 'Halloween Time' so the crowds can be pretty heavy, especially weekends and the days of the Halloween parties. Plus I'd guess that the last week would be heavy as it's the week that Halloween actually occurs.

EMH and package delivery are the two main reasons I stay onsite. Totally worth the extra price!

I think early entry is always important, regardless of when you go. If you get there before it starts you can usually get a bunch done before the park opens.

If you can't get in early, then make sure to go first to the opposite park- the one that isn't having EMH. Especially do Fantasyland first on that day. If you have EMH, do Fantasyland during that time. That place just gets such long lines later in the day.
