How important are lightning lanes?

I might be going to Disneyland with my adult daughter at the end of June. We are looking at 3 day hoppers. I know it will be the anniversary. Do you think we need lightening lane passes? We would like to not spend the extra money but we want to be able to do all the attractions.

Update: neither one of us will do Mission: Breakout, the Incredicoaster or Grizzly River Run.

I just got back from a trip with my 10 year old son and had the Lightning Land Multipass. It worked great and I wouldn't want to spend a day there without them. I was able to walk on many rides with no line where the normal line was an hour wait.

Keep in mind you need to reserve times available and can't reserve a 2nd reservation until you used that one or if 2 hours pass.

I think money is more well spent on LL than on hoppers.

If you have a good strategy (there are several websites out there with good itineraries) to beat the lines, it's definitely doable without lightning lane. The way I look at lightning lane for myself is, it's nice when it I have it but not a necessity, so I would think about it in terms like that. You have to weigh the cost vs. the enhancement it provides. There was a time when I was going once a year and I would get lightning lane to get everything done in a long full day. Then when I had my magic for the past year, I never got lightning lane because I was just going monthly as a local after work or whenever. With three days you will definitely have time to get it all done, but even with the best strategy you'll end up at least a few long lines without lightning lanes.

I think it's way more valuable at Disneyland than California Adventure. There's so many more options at DLR than CA to use the LL. If you are planning to rope drop, there's so much you can get done before 11am and then you have the LL options for riding again later. Like was said above, if you have a good strategy, you can get a lot done, even without a LL. We always get them because our trips are infrequent and we want to get as much in as we can. For us, it's worth the price.

I was thinking of going without them for a short Fall trip, but my husband insisted we have them at DL.
