I just got back Friday.

I was very worried about the heat and blisters and chafing between my legs.

I followed all the tips here and bought cooling neckties, Misty Mate, Mister fan, Brita Water bottles, Bodyglide and Blistershield for chafing and blisters, light colored clothes and lightweight clothes etc...

Here's what worked for us (and myself). We ended up using the filtered bottles and they saved us quite a bit of money. We ended up not using the Misty Mate and Mister Fan because we were tired of carrying them but we used wash clothes from the room instead. They were perfect.

For chafing and blisters I used Blistershield between my legs and Bodyglide (and sometimes Blistershield) for my feet. I used Teva's Pretty Rugged Leather on my feet.

I ended up using my 2 sleeveless tank tops over my WDW tees as it did make a BIG difference. I wish I bought more tank tops with me! I also wore either the Blistershield or biker undewear under my shorts. Worked great. NO black tops!

We took A/C breaks in stores. We'd refresh our face clothes at water fountains.

No one got blisters or chafing rashes!!!! All in all it was a sucessful trip!!

Did you have to break your Teva's in prior to your vacation? I have a new pair still the box in the back of the closet waiting to go on vacation.

Good question!

I do have a story about them.

I bought them specifically for this trip as it's August and it rains.

I do love my Ecco Cosmos (no break in time) but they really can't get soaked, just a little wet.

So I bought the Teva's in June. I bought the pretty rugged leather because I prefer the look and thought they were just a better fit (the straps); I tried the nylons at the store and they felt uncomfortable, the straps seemed to dig into my skin. I now wish I also bought the nylons too as they are completely waterproof.

Anyway, I bought the leather ones. As soon as I got them, I wore them. They are so lightweight and at first I thought they were great, but then by day 2 of wearing them, I thought they didn't have enough sole support for the balls of my feet. It also felt a bit like the side straps around my ankles would give me blisters. I gave up and put these sandals in my closet!

Well, about a month before my trip, I decided to give them another try. I'm SO glad I did. They fit perfectly now, no blisters from the straps. They did get wet and dried pretty fast and the wetness did not give me blisters.

The feeling I had about the soles and the tightness of the straps around my ankle all went away.

I got no blisters even when my feet got wet. I was pleasantly surprised.

Even with my Ecco Cosmos, after a couple days of all day walking, I started to get a tiny blister on my baby toe, but not with the Tevas.

So yes, for me anyway, they needed a bit of a break in. But others have said they needed no break in time.

Sorry so long!
