Awww I feel bad for Katie and the TOT ride, but so glad she's going to try it again one day. Great that Declan finally got to meet Lightning McQueen! And I agree, your pics are better! Chris's Minnie is amazing! Yours is pretty good yourself! I want to do the animation class when we go.

At least you got the major attractions done in your morning at DHS! And for beating your husband at TSM! I have to agree that your husband's Minnie is really good.

I can't believe that after spending that much money to add on days to the park hopper, that they were ready to leave before noon! I don't get it.

Love the Cars pics. Meeting Lightening had been our one big mission to our trip in August. My little girl loves him!

OMG I am reading your post and cracking up. Last time we went to DHS we did the Fantasmic dining package and had dinner at the Hollywood and Vine. I was so nervous from reading all the comments on the boards about the dinner portion... Actually no one complained about the food at all. As we started for Fantasmic I forgot to bring the kids earplugs for the Fireworks... My MIL said "oh there are the buses right there" Let's just head back to the resort... Of course I wouldn't settle for that I was so happy to get into Fantasmic. So I went to the nurses station and they had earplugs and we went to the show. After the whole thing... My MIL was so happy we stayed she loved the show.

Hopefully we will get to meet McQueen this trip. Last time he wasn't out... And my girlfriend made me a McQueen pillowcase dress so I was bummed he wasn't out.

I can't believe everyone wanted to leave so soon! I hope they return in the afternoon for some Disney magic.

LOL, this is great; your inlaws sound like my sister and her husband! We love them dearly, but don't go anywhere with them any more because all our time is spent either driving/traveling or waiting. Now when we get together, we just tell them when we'll be certain places and that they can catch up with us as best they can.

Your photos are far superior to the Photopass photographer's. You can cancel the pre-purchase by invoking the satisfaction guarantee; I did, after 1) seeing very few Photopass photographers in 8 days, and 2) thinking that the photos they took were horrible.

I really feel for you that you have such a difficult time enjoying your time at WDW. Even if I wasn't thrilled to be there I would doing whatever I could to help my family enjoy the vacation and doing my best to make my own time enjoyable.

I can't believe your SIL would spend all that money and not stay in the parks. I hope the returned later in the day.

Poor Katie and ToT! My daughter was equally freaked by it and highly doubtful if she will ever do it again.

She was 6 1/2 when she went. I don't do rides with drops like that. So dh took her on. She was all excited to go, however as I saw her walking out of the ride once it was over, she was white as a sheet. Dh said he thinks it was more the pre-show that did her in but he wasn't sure. We were also going to head to RnRCoaster but with the way she was looking, we decided a break would be best. Poor thing was so freaked by ToT, it took two days for her to get back to her usual thrill seeking self. I talked her into going on BTMRR and then she was back - did Space Mtn 3x's by the time we went home


I can't believe that after all the money your sil spent on tix, she was done that quickly. I would have sent dh back to the hotel with them and spent the rest of the day enjoying myself.

it was nice to see my SIL's reaction to the Park once we were inside. As we were walking up Hollywood Blvd, she was duly impressed. I lost count of how many "Wow"s I heard on that walk up the Blvd to the Hat.

it was a great start to the day for my SIL and nephews' first introduction to a WDW Park!

Chris of course loves this ride, and his sister and nephews did too.

Oh I was so excited to read these comments thinking perhaps you have found another Disney lover in your family....

By this point it was about 10:30-10:45am. And can you believe that my SIL was done for the day???

I'm glad Katie decided she would like to try ToT next year! Chris' drawing of Minnie is great! I can't imagine leaving a Park so early - I hope you all got to go to another Park later in the day

Sorry that ToT didn't work out better. Nathaniel was scared out of his mind last year on that ride! Too bad because I love it!!!

I finally finished reading everything!!!! Lovin' it! I'm very anxious to hear about the rest of your trip. I will have to admit, though, that I feel bad for y'all when you speak about your DH not enjoying everything That breaks my heart. At least he does like the resort!! That's a plus! Guess I'm super fortunate in the fact that my DH loves WDW. I have very dear friends that want to go to Disney, but their DHs won't do it....at least your DH will go!!!..... At least he is there. My poor friends are going to have to make a trip with the kids minus husband

If you don't like rides, just walk around or shop. Heck if I know what the deal is. Maybe they are overstimulated and it gets too overwhelming?

I agree! That's why I LOVE our Mom/Daughter only trips. We can have fun and do whatever, whenever, and not have to worry about pleasing or not pleasing everyone else.

We did the Animation class for the first time last trip and really liked it. We got to draw Pooh, one of my favorites.
