How hot is it the first week of October?

I've always thought that October was the best time to go to WDW as far as crowds and mild weather were concerned. However, we have a can't miss family trip the first week in November that we must attend every year, and we don't want to plan our WDW too close to that. (Both Loooooong drives!) I'm having to look at the beginning of October instead of the end as I would prefer. Is the first week in October still hot? I want mild weather, not HOT. We live in Texas and so we'd like a change from the unbearable heat and humidity. The first week of October shows the crowds to be really light (on touringplans.com) with the second week considerably more crowded. (Columbus day falls in that week). Will there be much of a difference in the weather between the first and second week of October?

Another option is the week AFTER Thanksgiving......it looks like low crowds on most day.....not sure what the weather is like that week.

Lastly, more recently I've looked at the week of the end of February/first part of March. For that week only the crowd calendar shows really light crowds, but I'm not sure about the weather. Anyone been that week and can give advice?

I'm so confused.......my main priorities are mild, comfortable weather with a low chance of rain and light crowds. But I can't go the end of October/first part of November (which is probably the best time frame I realize!) Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We usually go last week Sept. first week Oct. It is usually pretty hot IMO...high 80s - low 90s. We did go the second week in October once and I was so cold I had to buy a sweatshirt one day.

Also have been the first week in May and I didn't see a huge difference in temps at that time.

not sure of regular temps, but we went last year from sept 30th to the 7th of october. the last day hit 110 according to the cm we spoke with. it was brutal. apparently they were in the middle of a heat wave and we were literally peeling the kids off us.

October is usually hot- mid to high 80's and has been crowded the past few years. Although it is not going to stop us from going (the 7th -16th). We go every year for our anniversary :)

Somewhere around October 15th is when you might get a cool front come by and cool the temperatures off a bit, early October is still going to be hot. After Thanksgiving temperatures will be cooler but not freezing, late February will be colder with more chances of the temperatures getting near freezing.Early October will have the most chance of rain with higher humidity,it won't be as bad as the previous summer months but chances are it will still be somewhat hot with a bit less humidity.

The last trip we had to WDW was for the forst 2 weeks in October.
We found that the days were pretty hot for us (average 30/32 deg C), but most of the nights got pretty chilly.

The park were great as far as crowds are concerned.

Thanks!

We went the last week of Feb last year. It happened to coincide with Mardi Gras. I think the entire state of LA was there. It was sooooo busy.

Weather wise it was mid 70s, cool at night ~50.

You need to see when Ash Wednesday falls, that will let you know when Mardi Gras is.

Have went the fist week of OCtober 2 times and it is just way to hot and humid for us...changed to the week after Thanksgiving and LOVED IT...although it was cooler, we leave a hundred inches of snow on the ground that week so it is beautiful for us...love the Christmas decorations and it is usually warm enough for us to swim but see a lot of people with jackets and long jeans...warm for us and cold for them as we are used to cooler weather all year round.

We also enjoy the month of May,,probably our favorite time to go...the crowds are ok and it doesn't feel as hot and humid as the beginning of October.

Thanks for the response. So have you ever gone the first week of May? Is it really hot then? Also, the week after Thanksgiving, how early does the park close? Is there somewhere I can see what time it get dark each month and what time the parks will close?

Still so unsure.......lol.

Our honeymoon in '92 was the last week of April - 1st week of May. The parks were deserted!!!! We had no idea, just knew it seemed like a great place to be.

As for weather...you can expect almost anything.
Our experiences have been
Sunny and warm (70s & 80s in January) :sunny:
Sunny but cold (20s & 30s in January) :cold:
Very cool (50s-70s) in late April/Early May :cool1:
Mild and Rainy (70s-80s) Week of 4th of July:umbrella:

I've been several times during the last-week-of-September-through-the-end-of-October timeframe. I've found pretty much all of October tends to be very hot. I went in October 2009 (from the 8th through the 18th), and we had record highs (90+ degrees, plus high humidity). In my experience (seven trips total, all within that timeframe), it was hot and humid.

If you want to avoid the heat, I'd wait until later in the fall to go, or even after the first of the year.

Last Oct and I am not kidding during the MSSSHP people were literally throwing up it was soo hot. AND they wore costumes.:sick::sick:
