How has Westjet been recently flying out of YYZ?

Looking at flights from YYZ - MCO in May 2025.
I have WJ dollars to spend so debating booking through them. While both WJ and AC are bad at being on time, my concern with WJ is that it has less flights per day to MCO. The one I'm looking at leaves at 4 pm but is the last one of the day, such that if there are issues with the flight there would be no other options to book to another one later that day.
How bad has Westjet been recently departing out of Pearson?

I collect WestJet dollars (credit card) ... soon to be renamed WestJet Points so I frequently fly with them.

I was very unhappy with my flight changes this year.
Perfect times went to awful times.
Hours can be spent trying to get a live agent to speak with.

Boarding Gate changed 4 times before we boarded.
Baggage seemed to be moving smoothly.
Plane definitely looked like it needed a major overhaul.

I'm watching flights for Nov. That time change to Orlando would have made me very unhappy. :(

I don't have points, so I'm waiting for Southwest out of Buffalo to come out for Nov. I don't love the cost or times available on Westjet for November. Southwest may not be better (not to mention the horrible exchange rate), but we'll see.

We flew out on Dec 18’th to go to Orlando. The flight was originally at 10:30 but three months before the 10:30 flight was cancelled and we were put on the 7:30 flight. We had booked comfort seats for nine people and two days before our flight they then gave our seats away and scattered us around the plane. I somehow got it fixed only to find out the next day that we were booted out of our seats again. I have asked Westjet on how this could happen with no reply.

Our flight home from Fort Lauderdale was delayed one hour which is no big deal. If I didn’t have the RBC CC I would fly someone else but it’s perks make me forget about Westjets awful customer service.

Flew Westjet in early December YYZ to MCO. We were delayed I believe. But because of the block time and flying conditions arrival in Orlando was only off by about 45 minutes or so. WJ is currently in the process of integrating Swoop and Lynx aircraft into their system so the onboard experience with seating can be very variable. Cabin crew were awesome on that particular flight.

May won't run the risk of snow/ice/de-icing so delays shouldn't be as likely.

Was the change in the departing flight from Pearson weather related?

Just woke up to a Westjet email indicating our April 7 flight home with a 11:30 am departure from Orlando to Toronto has been changed to 9:30pm.. looked at other Westjet flights and decided to cancel both flights (there and home) and rebook with Air Canada

I have a feeling with the current situation south of the border and a reduction in air travel that there will be plenty of changes in the future

Yikes that's horrible. Any reason given?

Westjet is redeploying aircraft to Caribbean destinations and reducing capacity to the USA while also undergoing a major fleet renewal this year. Westjet doesn't have the ability to redeploy smaller aircraft to US destinations like Air Canada does with the A220.

Nothing of substance…

“Due to our flight schedule adjustment, we’ve had to change or cancel one or more flights on your itinerary”

Luckily it was still early enough to take advantage of other options and air lines

flight prices weren’t too bad when booking under a month away ?
