How hard will it be to get a dinner meal if you don't reserve a time in early dec?

I am not sure where to make a reservation for a Dinner meal with the meal plan. How hard will it be ti get a Dinner meal in December 12-17th? We can wind up in any park at anytime.

It really depends on where you want to eat and when you want to eat. If you're flexible, you'll have better luck. However, it often hard to get a dinner walk-up in any of the parks (except maybe Epcot because there are so many choices). You're best bet is at the resorts. I would hazard a guess that there is always something available on any given day (except the major holidays), but it might not be near where you are or at a time you want to eat.

Generally, if you want to know for sure that you'll have somewhere to eat at a reasonable time, make an ADR. If you're willing to eat really early (before 4) or really late (after 9) and not necessarily in a park, then you can wing it.

We always make reservations to ensure there is availability. We were there in May and had to cancel our dinner reservation because we were at MK and the reservation was at downtown Disney but our daughter refused to leave. We thought we would just walk up to another restaurant and be seated. However, there was no availability at any of the restaurants. I was extremely upset since we were on the deluxe dining plan. I complained to the hostess at The Plaza and finally we were accommodated. We never want to go through that again. So I suggest making reservations.

Depends on when and where you want to eat.

If you want a character meal you can probably forget it.

If you want to eat in a park, you may not be accommodated in peak mealtimes. Your best bets at Epcot would be Marrakesh or Nine Dragons. If you're not OK with those, you'll probably need a reservation or be prepared to wait. MK has only six table service restaurants at dinner (unless the overflow at Diamond Horseshoe is open). Your odds of getting in a restaurant there without a reservation are not good.

If you're good with leaving the park and going someplace like Downtown Disney, it might be easier.
