How hard to get OKW GV?

We've taken a couple of WDW trips now renting points and think it's great. Hope to become members before the next trip, but, even if we end up renting again...or if we don't have enough points and end up renting in addition...how hard is it to get a GV at OKW? Do they all book up within the first 5 minutes of the 11 month window, or do they go a little slower than that? Either way, I'd try to plan ahead and would probably be trying to book right at the 11 month point. And we would probably be going in early January (2007, most likely). What do you think our chances would be? Should we just not get our hopes up? Or do we dare to dream?

For holiday periods and early December, the GVs are likely booked within a few days of the 11 month window.

Other times of the year I've actually read posts from people who said they got a GV at 7 months. Those posts are rare, but it has happened.

If your plans are set, book as early as possible and you won't risk disappointment.

If you book it at the 11 month window you should have no problem for early January. OKW has the most GV's(27).

Actually, the first two weeks of December are usually the most difficult. I have called at 10:00am at eleven months out with no availability.

I have to agree that I think you will have a good chance in January, but not December. We were even there in January once when someone who had traded in from II got a GV instead of a two bedroom, and they were frantically calling family to come joing them!
