How hard is it to get a 2 bedroom Savannah view the week before Christmas (Normally)

I know this year is different than others, but is it normally hard to get a Savannah view 2 bedroom villa, Jambo House, at 7 months? Just wondering if it is reasonable to even think about this. After learning that BRV is not being renovated until 2022, thinking of staying elsewhere next Christmas. Thoughts?

All Jambo 2BR villas are lockoffs. So you are essentially competing with everyone who is attempting to book a studio at Jambo during that same time. There are a total of 33 2BR savanna view lockoffs in Jambo, compared to Kidani which has a total of 207 (dedicated + lockoff). I’d say that getting one in Jambo could be tough.

So do you want the week before Christmas or the week of Christmas? I tend to see more availability across all DVC properties the week of Christmas to New Years due to the high cost of points. The week before Christmas depending on when it falls is a little more hit or miss. Jambo house in particular is a little harder to book than kidani because there's way less units but not impossible at 7 months. Its our home resort but the only thing I've ever had to book at more than 7 months are the CL rooms. Other than that, everything else seems to be open, value rooms will also go fast. Another thing to think about is the massive amount of points that will be in play next year. I think we'll see people go for larger units because they have extra points. I would book your home resort and just keep an eye out for Jambo around the 7 month mark to see what availability is like.

Interestingly, when I wanted to book a 2BR standalone (don't like the lockoff layout) at Kidani Village next June, only 2BR lockoffs at Jambo House were available. So I took this and put in a waitlist for Kidani, which came through just a few days ago, to my delight!

I didn't realize there are so few 2BR lockoffs at Jambo House. Interestingly, when I wanted to book a 2BR standalone (don't like the lockoff layout) at Kidani Village next June, only 2BR lockoffs at Jambo House were available. So I took this and put in a waitlist for Kidani, which came through just a few days ago, to my delight!

That could be due to the hotel part of Jambo not being open now and no reopening date anticipated for early summer. Demand is unusually low for Jambo DVC due to not much being open.
