I am hoping for some opinions and help. My dilemma. We are thinking of selling our DVC-OKW to enable us to build our dream home. The question is how hard is it to later buy back into OKW? OKW is the one and only home away from home for us. We are not really interested in the other DVC properties. Any sugestions? Thanks!!!

There will always (or almost always) be a resale market for the various properties, so I cannot imagine that it would be incredibly hard to purchase in the future.

What you're doing sounds pretty expensive in the long run though. You're going to pay comission on the sale when you sell, and then when you purchase in the future the price will likely have gone up.

You have to decide what's worth it to you. I'd agree that selling and buying again in the future will likely be a more expensive way of proceeding. The other issue, which only you can answer and I don't want to know, is can you afford it. Frankly, unless you have a very large amount of points, I wouldn't expect $15000 one way or the other to be the ultimate difference for a "dream home". Besides, does that mean you won't take vacations the next few years because of the home, unless you won't, you may actually spend more money. I realize rates are favorable right now but finances can be uncertain. Regardless, I wish you and your family the best of luck in your decision and directions.

Firefighter Mickey and Dean, I think you are both right we would lose money and selling wouldn't make that much of a difference in building our home. We wouldn't be taking any trips for a few years and could just bank or rent points out. What was I thinking, selling my DVC !!! Thanks again.:D

Good luck, I wish you the best.
