We just stayed at Vero for the first time last week. We loved it! I cannot wait to go back.

For a non-owner, how hard is it to book a beach cottage at the 7 month window? Any time of year easier to get? :confused3

I would like to book it for 4/5 nights (sun - fri for cheaper points)

Thanks for any help!!

I'm afraid to say that at the 7 month window it could be really tough. A better plan might be to try to find an owner who might swap a ressie with you--or pay cash (non discounted even via CRO). They are very popular, with good reason to be - they're wonderful! :)
Best of luck in whatever way to try!

I heard that it almost impossible to get during the summer months unless you own there. So we decided to buy enough points so that we could go every other year. Currently you can not get a great price through resale. We purchased this past year for $59 per point. After factoring current dues it makes it about thje same costs as the other resorts. But of course the dues will probably go up faster.

There's always a chance you'l get lucky -- my guess is that May, October and January are probably your best bets. There are only 6 and many times one is being refurbished, etc. cutting down the number even further.

I went on a waitlist for March shortly after the 7-month mark and it never came through.

I think it would be difficult. I have been on the waitlist since January for late May early June and nothing! They did have Friday and Saturday night available when I called a couple of weeks ago, but it was over 100 points per night, so I passed.

We are cruising this fall, so we'll just put VB on hold, although I am dying to go!

Don't forget that that you may be able to get the 25% DVC member discount for Friday and Saturday nights which is usually a better deal than using points. We are staying in a Grand Villa in HH and the point value for a Staurday night was around $5.5 per point so we booked early and got the DVC discount.

We have been able to get a cottage at the 7 month window twice.

We did 3 nights in March of 2001 and 4 nights in August 2002.

Thanks for the replies. That's exactly what I was afraid of. I am thinking of adding some points there and maybe trying to go every other year.

Anyone know if disney has any vero points in inventory? And the price through disney?
