I saw it is on the dining list for MYW and was wondering how the food was. I saw the menu and it looks pretty good. What do you think?

The first time DH and I dined there we liked it a lot. We had excellent margaritas, flatbreads, & mediterranean dips appetizers, and my entree was chicken with olives.

It was not as good when we went back two years later. The menu had not changed at all. It was fine, but not great.

My DH and I went there last June. It was okay. I was a little disappointed. After dinner we walked over to Beaches and Cream for dessert and both of us wished we just ate there instead.

This is on of my favorite restaurants in the World. Atmosphere is very pleasant, menu is different--mediteranean inspired. I like to sit in the room with the doors that open to the Boardwalk, its great on a cool evening sitting there with the doors open watching what is happening!

I was blown away by Spoodles when it first opened. It has changed over the years and is no longer a dinner favorite of mine. However, the breakfast there is very good.

It's a must for us each trip to WDW. I have not been disappointed yet and I don't plan to be.

We have it on our list of places to eat, but I'm not liking the sound of some of these posts. It wasn't a must do, so I'm wondering if we should do Beaches and Cream or Big River Grille instead...hmmmm

Have you thought about Flying Fish Cafe? They are very good. Get the peeky toe crab cakes. The lobster bisque is great. And their seafood is very fresh.
For a more casual, and if you love ice cream, go for Beaches and Cream.

Flying Fish is an outstanding restaurant. Definitely give it a try if you like the menu. Big River is no big deal....Food is like Bennigans quality. Nothing special, though they do brew their own beer if that interests you. :flower1:

We have eaten at Spoodles our last two visits to WDW (August and December). The food was very good and we especially liked the fact that the restaurant is noisy because of the open kitchen - I did not have to spend the whole meal keeping my kids quiet (not that they are very loud, but they are 4 and 6).

The flatbreads are good, the steak was excellent and the dessert tray is neat. I will very likely eat here again.

Spoodles was a favorite of mine for awhile. The past couple trips I have not eaten there, so I don't know how it has held up. It was exceptional when I dined there. (Last time was in 2001)

Had you asked a year ago, I would have given it a definite thumbs-up. The last two times we ate there, we didn't enjoy it as much. Part of the reason for me was that my favorites always get taken off the menu. First, it was the scallops, so I had the stuffed peppers instead, which were great. Then the stuffed peppers were gone. DH's favorite, the fettucine, is still on the menu, but he said it wasn't as good the last couple of times. In fact, DB got it in September and they didn't put any sauce on it! He didn't know any better until DH noticed. We told the chef when he was making his rounds, but by that time we were finished.

Our waiter told us in December that there is a new chef who is Greek and wants to put different things on the menu. I noticed there were more Italian dishes than anything else this last time. I had the Osso Bucco, which I usually love anywhere else, but didn't care for it at Spoodles.

We tried Spoodles for the first time in November. We have been going for 10 years, never tried it. We saw the menu one day during a stroll on the Boardwalk and thought it looked good...and the smells coming from the restaurant were wonderful.

BIG FAT MISTAKE. This was the worst sit-down meal we've ever had at Disney. My husband's chicken was so dry...and when we ordered the waitress went on and on about how tender the chicken was. She said "excellent choice." I had to send my steak back 3 times. I ordered it medium rare and it came WELL DONE. 2nd time medium well. 3rd time medium. I gave up and ate it but it was awful. Then, the worst part came later on that evening. After Illuminations my husband actually felt sick.

We were so disappointed. I would rather eat at McDonalds. And that says a lot coming from me because I don't like McDonalds.

P.S. yes - the flatbread is good...but who can mess up cheese and bread?

We ate there in July and had a wonderful meal. If you go, try the Blue Spoodle drink. It's delicious.
