How good are my chances for 7 month switch?

Planning on making a ressie at our home resort, SSR, at 11 months out for Dec. 16-22, 2012 for 3 studios. What do you think my chances for switching at 7 months out to OKW for 4 studios? I know it's a busy time but do you think I stand a chance for making a switch?

Unfortunately, I think the chances of finding 4 studios at any resort for that time frame at 7 months at any non-home resort is unlikely...but you never know until you try. Good luck.

We have been members at OKW since 1994 and go every xmas week (for the last 7 years regularly anyway). For last 4 years tried to change at 7 months and was not able to. Lasst year we were able to switch to AKLV savanna view in Jambo house(loved it) and this year we were able to switch to VWL at 7 months..both were 1 bdrooms. Not sure why last 2 years have been different, but its worth a try. You can waitlist also. We love OKW and really do not get upset if we don't get to switch..just like trying resorts ..

One might be possible, but four? Don't think so. But you won't know if you don't try.

I'd say your chances at the 7 month window for OKW are pretty good.

I think so, too!pixiedust: Be sure to call right at the 7 month mark. If you have to waitlist for 1 or 2, do so. I think some people would want to change FROM OKW for that time period, too.

Yay!:cheer2:Words of encouragement!

I am hoping that I might stand a chance moving to OKW at 7 months. We have 11--possibly 14 family members planning a trip to WDW Dec. 2012. I was thinking we might be more comfortable at OKW. Plus the points are less. I guess I'll start out at SSR at 11 months then see what happens when I call at exactly 7 months out. Hoping for pixie dust!:wizard:

I had 3 value rooms booked at AKV for our upcoming Feb trip. I was able to switch on the 7 month mark exactly to 3 preferred view studios at Boardwalk. This was during President's week which is supposedly a busy week. So I would suggest you try it. OKW is a huge resort compared to BWV so I think your chances are good.

BUT....February is a far cry from Christmas holiday time. I think it will be a stretch to expect to get 4 studios. You might have better luck with 1 or 2 bedrooms than studios.

For four studios? I agree with Chuck that the odds of getting all 4 studios is not great. What would be greater odds would be that the OP would end up with some of the group at SSR and some at OKW.

It does beg the question though..with the limit on waitlists per member, could the member put all four studios on the waitlist anyway? Here's what it says on the member web site:

You can have up to two active wait list requests per Membership per Use Year.

Would a request for four rooms be considered one waitlist or two? And if one, would it only come through if all four rooms opened up at the same time? If so, I'd say the chances of getting that request would be less than zero.

I think each room would be a wait list.
