How get value of pre-Covid ticket + maxpass?

Pre-Covid we purchased a group of tickets for our family, DLR closed. When it reopened, we were unsure if we were going to visit and gave our tickets to another family, but they have one less kid so we have, remaining, 1 3 day park hopper with maxpass that expires in December.

We are planning to visit now end of October/beginning of November, but only for 2 days. Is there any way to just get the value of what we paid and apply it towards the new group of tickets I'm buying? DLR won't even take calls right now, so I sent an email but it could very well be October by the time they get back to me!

If I just have to suck it up and use the 3 day for our trip even though we're only going 2 that's fine I guess (although the expiration date is 12/2020, I assume I don't need to convert it to a current ticket?), but I should at least be able to get MP back.

Thanks!

When I asked about this on our Canadian offer tickets the CM told me you could do it online that there was a drop down menu to select refund of max pass or if you are going to the parks you can stop at the ticket booth and they will credit the max pass portion for you there to a gift card.

When I asked about how to deal with tickets that have expired she told me we would have to exchange them at the park but that won't work when you need to make reservations. We ended up asking for a refund for most of the tickets and keeping 2 of them for an upcoming trip.

When you go is there any way to spend the evening before in parks to use the 3rd day... Try the Chat option on the app and see if they can work any magic for you.

Most of the tickets that expired during the closure were reset with an expiration date sometime in December of this year I think, so the 3-day parkhopper ticket might not be expired. If it is expired, you won't be able to make a reservation using it and your only option for using it would be to upgrade it at a ticket booth. Policy is that the ticket can only be changed to another ticket or pass of equal or greater value, so you won't be able to downgrade to a 2-day ticket. You also can't apply its value to a purchase of multiple tickets. You should be able to get the Maxpass portion of the ticket refunded to you if you go to a ticket booth. So your options if it is not expired I think are to use the ticket as a 3 day hopper on the upcoming trip or to purchase tickets of the desired length for your party and let the 3-day hopper expire and apply its value in the future when you want a ticket of equal or greater value.

Thanks - that's what I wasn't sure about. It's NOT expired - so technically I could make a reservation with it - but I also don't think we can squeeze 3 days in, so I might need to just let it expire and try to use it later.

Disney doesn't usually let one split one ticket into multiple tickets or vice versa

We're sort of in the same boat. We purchased 4-day tickets in Feb, 2020 before the price increase and had a trip booked for summer 2020. I then re-booked for Spring Break 2021 after that was cancelled... and then that trip was later cancelled by Disney. I know that the expiration date of these tickets has been extended to 12/16/2021. Since we don't live in California, we weren't allowed to go once the part re-opened. My wife is a teacher and by the time they announced that non-Californians were allowed back we only had about 60 days to try and do a trip before my wife had to get back to work. This was a no-go because of a lack of accommodations. So we've re-booked again for Spring Break 2022.

The tickets were purchased via UCT. I called them and they said that Disney would have to handle the credit and re-purchase of new tickets. But with the horrendous wait times, I haven't tried that avenue yet. I sent an email about 10 days ago to the DL ticket sales email address posted on this forum, but still haven't heard back.

I contacted Disneyland about this. They replied they will be sending me a virtual reimbursement in the way of Disney funds. But it'll take 6-8 weeks. Which will arrive either right before or right after our DL trip in October. Knowing the way Disney screws everything up these days, I'll have that money that can only be spent at Disney 2 days after our trip.
