If I may ask, what does straightening cost and have you ever done it to see it it helps the frizz? I sure would be willing to do it if the price is right.
I usually pay $45 for the cut and the straightening. I have been straightening my hair for years and have had no problems. My daughter had hers done twice. The second time she lost a good bit of hair. The only thing we can figure out is that her hair was not in real good shape. Make sure yours is well conditioned. I saw an advertisement for an over the counter straightener in the Lucky magazine.
Wow, that is really, really cheap. We did it to my dd years ago and it was a mess. Fried ends etc. What the stylist did was just come in a perm solution. Is that what yours consists of or has things changed within 10 years?
I have to tell you guys a funny story about the last time I cruised. We were on CC and of course my hair was frizzy, curly, wavy and totally uncontrollable. A very cute lady came up to me and said "face it, you are going to have to start wearing a HAT". Can you believe that? I thought it was funny. I will never forget that statement!!
speaking of Castaway, on our last cruise, I had my hair put up on Thursday for formal (semi?) night - we had friends on board doing a vow renewal so we really dressed up. The up-do was done WONDERFULLY and I ended up leaving it in and wearing it like that on Friday to the beach - it was much looser after sleeping on it, but still "up" enough (thanks to the 2700 bobby pins in it) to keep it off my face/neck and out of my eyes.
It did feel wonderful to wash it all out Friday afternoon before dinner tho!
I asked the question a while back. I also have naturally curly hair but I blow dry mine straight and sometimes use a straightener to make it super straight. When I am in WDW my hair will frizz up the minute I step outside and I end up wearing it in a ponytail if it is summertime. I have decided that it will be ponytails for me on the cruise too.
I had my hair professionally straightened yesterday. She charged $50 for the cut and the straightening. She said it was an Artek product and is meant just for straightening. I live in Alabama so if you live in New York in may be more expensive. I think it's worth it. My hair is straight as a board now. It's close to 100% humidity this morning and no frizz.
Hey guys- have the perfect answer!! It has worked for me wonders! Since I found the piece below- which is very easy to put on (and looks so real!!) I have had nothing but compliments on my cruises and all my photos are nothing but glamorous!!
Now- it comes in different colors (8-10) to naturally match your natural hair color- I have the "curly quick change" and it's nothing but like a scrunchie- and all I do is put up and go! Forget the other jazz I have tried before- like salon or straightening my hair before the cruise or all kinds of "frizz free" products- This was for sure best investment I have ever made. (Kept a secret from my husband- and even he was wowed! Could not believe was not real)
Trust me- tired and true! You would think I work for this co.- but I am so pleased- I just ordered the long curly piece...Should arrive in next couple days!!
Good luck- this is the best and easy way I have been able to handle...ORDER IT- YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY...
