Obviously they can't determine someone's vaccination status, which means it's a requirement that's impossible to actually enforce. But it's still a requirement based on the honor system in an effort to not to infect other people. If someone doesn't like that requirement they can stay home. Or they can lie. But the unvaccinated have to choose.

That is just not true. The studies actually say the opposite. I haven't seen a full report on what happened in Manaus, Brazil but the studies on naturally infected people show the exact opposite.

Ok, well I guess they don't say REQUIRED since they have no way of enforcing. But EXPECTED (their word) is a whole lot more mandatory than a piddly 'recommended'. Vaccine passports would have made this all so much easier to mandate.

I saw what it says, just saying that they're not going to be policing it. They're moving all the mask compliance team members elsewhere. We'll see starting tomorrow but I'd bet most kids won't be wearing them indoors.

Hi unfortunately this is not completely true. I bought the 4 day Florida resident discovery ticket. Once they changed the mask mandate I called and asked for an extension till later August when I will be done with vaccination. I explained for medical reasons I have to wait till later summer.

Disney replied with they can’t do anything for me. I have a choice to go with maskless guests or lose over $800.00. Yes I would wear a mask, but it is much safer to you when others do too.

I'd keep calling...I was thinking more in terms of a package, but even with just a special limited time offer like it looks like you chose; I'd keep pushing. I think the average guest would probably have an easier time, as I believe the tix you're referring to were a special promotion only offered for a limited time; but I'd keep trying. Good luck!

Many countries are already using them, and cruise lines are also requiring them. They allow travellers to avoid long quarantines, gives people options and greater sense of safety, so it seems crazy not to.

Previous infection has been shown to provide little if any immunity to future infection. Look at Manaus, Brazil. 75% of the city had covid at once last July/August and there was another massive outbreak by November. The only way thay can happen is if the same people are getting infected again.

Actually, there is very promising research saying that natural immunity may be lasting. I've seen studies say immunity up to 11 months so far and still going strong.

Actually, vaccine passports are not even 100 percent a guarantee because there are more “breakthrough” cases ( remember Pfizer is only something like 95% effective) than recurring cases of individuals that have already had Covid (.003%) a Covid vaccine passport does nothing prove that you are immune to getting the virus, you can still get it and then give it to someone else that is vaccinated or not vaccinated. I would personally rather be in any location with individuals that have previously had the virus. The chance of me getting reinfected ( as someone that has the natural antibodies) is far less than if I were vaccinated. Do, vaccine passports do not mean someone cannot give it get it.

Exactly. WDW is first and foremost a family destination, and by pre-emptively endangering young children by allowing everyone to go maskless while kids haven't been approved for vaccinations yet, it boggles my mind. I can totally appreciate them doing that once vaccines are available for all and then you simply can choose what works best for your family, but they are essentially making that choice FOR families. Yes, "you can just not go" but that isn't the point. They have been very health conscious, respectful and clearly concerned with keeping visitors healthy up until now. But if they allow people to go maskless before kids have a chance to get vaxxed, it's just mindblowing. Not very family friendly.

Totally agree. Yes, getting a vaccine doesn't mean you can't get it. Also doesn't mean you can't pass it along. But 95% is a whole lot better insurance than 0% vaccinated.

Not if you have natural immunity. It gets pushed aside in these conversations, but is definitely relevant. It is also responsible for the decreases in US covid cases along with the vaccine.

I'm hearing masks at Universal are not required WHATSOEVER effective tomorrow.

Wording says fully Vaccinated but it’s really the honor system for non TM as I’m sure like my place of business they need to show proof to management to remove them off stage

What about the kids? Do children 2-11 still need to wear a mask since they are not vaccinated? That will be difficult for parents to enforce when most adults aren’t wearing masks.

“Technically” yes but when a fully vaccinated mommy and daddy are maskless the littles will want to be too and I pitty CMs that would have to enforce this

Hopefully not fast at all. I already have to fight Universal for a refund for my June trip, I don't want to have to fight Disney and an airline too.

I’m calling sometime between 9PM tonight and the end of the holiday weekend for indoor masks to be not required for “fully vaccinated” guests

I’d be fine with it if they weren’t throwing physical distance out the window as well and will still personally keep my mask on indoors and in close knit outdoor situations

I would definitely be cancelling if my son wouldn't be fully vaccinated for our July trip. However, I don't know if I will feel comfortable without a mask in a tight ride sitting elbow to elbow with complete filthy strangers who probably didn't even wash their hands. So, I might be wearing a mask in those cases anyway.
